no, because i'm not being contacted by legitimate companies - the companies the list blocks and can fine. if i were getting calls from Verizon to switch to their platform, I would. Filing a complaint against a spoofed # from a robocalling center in China is a waste of time

I did it quite a few times, and now I don't get them. So it seems like it wasn't a waste of time for me.

Edit: which reminds me…another feature I miss from Android is having the phone pickup then hang up on people not saved in my contacts. No voicemail access allowed. Ima have to get rid of this iPhone 13 smh

oh no it doesn’t disturb me in that way but eventually when I go to check my messages then I’ll see all those silly texts…I’m bytching about it on some first world problem shyt but it really is a nuisance tho

this sounds suspect and counter to everything i've read across various message boards...especially given you'd need to report every single spoofed #, it's not reporting a company. but if you get no spam calls and texts, congrats on being an anomaly

Yes, as I said, I filed a lot of them. Sorry everything you read on message boards couldn't be true for every single person in the nation?

Neither of the things I recommended to the op is harmful to him, or --again-- worth a back and forth. So why don't you just focus all this vim, vigor, and need to be "right" on the advice being given to him in the thread that is harmful and wrong?

ya that’s why I made the thread…I realize what they’re attempting to do and won’t fall for it…but I wanted to know if anyone else was dealing with that shyt and perhaps find a way to deal with it…seems I don’t have too many options tho outside of what @drederick tatum mentioned and just continuing to block/delete these texts

bro, it doesn't take a leak to get your information. one, it's for sale, two, it's pretty easy to figure out phone number nomenclature and just change various digits to create a whole roster of numbers you can spam.

Sure, it's "easy* like brute forcing a 4 digit password. It's really just as likely bro either accidentally answered a call he shouldn't have, had his info leaked or a data breach.

I check haveibeenpwned and my shyt has been in like 18 different data breaches from DatPiff to fukkin adobe to pirating PS3 games to Mathway in HS being hacked

And @surf all the text messages could be them tryna hide actual login attempts. It's a common tactic with spam. Bombard the email and then quickly sign into shyt while that person is mass deleting.

And just like Linus recently, if you ran across any type of malware, it's possible for them to just steal session cookies which bypasses 2FA

you're the one who made up some idea of me being anti DNC, i'm on the list and it works for legitimate companies, but the shyt doesn't work for spoofing and robocalls. i think i'll believe the objective data on this as opposed to anecdotes

just checked 4 emails that I use…only 1 wasn’t compromised which is the one I use strictly for finances…that email is only given to financial institutions I deal with/use so it hasn’t been compromised yet until/unless one of them gets hacked…my others have been compromised but a lot of that I knew that from old sites I used to visit but I been changed my password since those occurred and I use 2FA on my email so that still provides some measure of protection…those emails addresses don’t contain anything personal tho
