Anybody else think Magic doesn't like Bill Simmons?

The fukk is wrong with Magic? He just said Kawhi Leonard won't play a lot of minutes vs. the Lakers because he can't guard Gasol.

He thinks Kawhi plays the 4. Jalen Rose had to politely inform him that Kawhi plays the 3 and Duncan and Splitter will be at the 4 and 5.

How can a professional analyst be that uninformed?

This espn basketball team is among the worst I've ever seen. Magic has typically been awful, but he has been much better surrounded by different personalities (see: people who kiss his ass). It's seems magic is so politically connected in the league and the business that it affects his analysis, and unless he's speaking on the lakers, he will hardly take a firm position on anything. Simmons is a basketball super fan, who likes to poke fun and be a personality. Their acts just clash. Who at espn is making these decisions?

In general the whole trend of former players as analysts or play by play, with the few exceptional guys, has really brought down the quality of espn a lot.

Simmons and Jalen have good chemistry and actually have specific roles.


Magic and Wilbon gotta go. They should just bring in a straight guy instead of replacing both Magic and Wilbon. The show would be much better, even if I am not the fondest of Simmons.

I remember Simmons shytted on Magic in his book and how terrible Magic was as a TV personality, but now he is on the same set with him! Also, I remember he was talking about how Magic threatened to leave the Lakers if Westhead didn't get fired. So, I can see how Magic don't fukk with him off the set......

This is a big part of it. Magic never forgot that, because Magic is sensitive to how he's perceived as an analyst.

Jalen is a rising star at ESPN. They need to ditch Wilbon and make Magic a consultant or something.

...and THIS is Magic's main problem as an analyst. He need to fall back from that.
