Probably movies/tv shows

1080p rips are around 10 gig per movie and 2 gigs per episode

I got a 20TB server thats almost filled(got about 400 gigs left) and I dont have any porn at all...just movies, docs,and tv shows

no,cant afford to right now but im gonna add another 10TBs and make a duplicate server and back everything up around tax time

those WD green drives been good to me so far *knocks on wood*

i had 3 externals die on me last year,one of them was from like 03 or 04 and had alot of old shyt i couldnt get back .Thats what made me build a server in the first place...got tired of them faulty ass externals

How do you have time to watch/view all of that?

Not trying to be trolling or anything, I just don't understand how people are finding time to download/rip and then view all of that stuff? My DVR is backed up for weeks.

a home server + xbmc =

i can watch my stuff on any device connected to my net,in any room

i can even watch my shyt when im not home using Plex

any movie or tv show you can think of i got it

ive seen most of the movies cause i usually watch them when i first get them

i would say i have seen around 80% of the movies i have and probably 40% of the tv shows

this is all stuff i been getting over the last 10 years so its not like i got all this shyt at once

Why dont you just do a raid 5 ... this way you wont need to dedicate an entire 15TB to bakup. just 1 parity drive .. but of course the catch is all drive must be the same size

For those looking for cheap internal drives ... I have purchased an external before because it was cheaper and took the drive out.
