Saw it this week at a screening. Pretty faithful to the original Evil Dead, but has no comedy whatsoever like the other 2. If you like violence and gore you'll love it. Goriest movie I've ever seen. Not real scary, just a lot ofmoments. There are also a lot of
moments so don't go in expecting realism in any way.
7.5/10 for me. better than 90% of the horror/slasher movies that have been out in the past few years.
hoping The Conjuring and Insidious Part II will be better tho![]()

this isn't it...100% garbage, I'm not sure if it was by Michael Bay's company, but it had that same sterile, slick, soulless feel as the rest of the remakes he has helmed or produced. Was literally like 'Cabin In The Woods' played seriously.

That was the OG "Evil Dead". You ever see the original?
Fred.
Truthfully, I haven't, but this is just done without any sense of self awareness or humor, it's played 100% straight, and in the wake of a movie like 'Cabin in the Woods' is rendered almost near parody. It doesn't follow the original, except the traces of the plot, and nods/scenes from it, my friend is a die hard 'Evil Dead' fan and he was having a nerd fit after the movie. It's a bad movie in general, and a terrible horror movie, just like 'Nightmare on El Street' and 'Friday The 13th' remakes.
