Yo I had the exact same thing, dealt with it by smoking weed and seeing a therapist once a week. Shyt they just sit there and listen, sometimes that is all you need. I hope you overcome your demons.

I take pregabalin for my anxiety every day. Anxiety disorder and panic attacks have been a dark spectre in my life since my teens (15 to be exact). Despite the stigma, I've turned to drugs because they are the only things that have stopped me from thinking about suicide all the time. I've never actually tried suicide, but after every harrowing episode I'd always play out a suicidal fantasy in my head and this relief/happiness would just wash over me. That was alarming enough for me to seek medication. I'm now much better (not perfect, the battle still continues) but the drugs do help.

If you need the drugs take them, but if you feel you can manage without then don't. It is not fun.

If you ask me, medical science is still a long way off from properly dealing with common mental illnesses. I remember reading the story of this girl () but I couldn't even properly finish it because it was so painful. I 100% know what she was going through. Unfortunately she lost the battle. It is sad.

Tried it too but it was under a different brand I think. Yah, it didn't work, and I pretty much could not get off. Not fun ...

What sucks a lot of the times, is that you have all these drugs and they work differently for different people, so you have to do a lot of experimentation to see if there's one that does its intended job. I tried zoloft for a long period of time but quit it in frustration as it wasn't helping a lot and was ruining my sex life. but the alternative was perpetual misery!! shyt sucks. aww man i definitely don't miss that time period in my life. wow.

and don't get me started on the amount of doctors / psychiatrists I had to try, to find one who wasn't patronizing and was actually trying to help me. right now the system isn't handled to treat people with mental illnesses. and my shyt is common. imagine if you suffered from some rare shyt like HPPD.

I think about that saying "ignorance is bliss" alot. Seems like when u come into the knowledge of reality, its hard to remain happy and optimistic. I dont smoke or drink nor have the desire to but it seems like becoming becoming "conscious" brings about that dark cloud OP referred to.

I have a 3 year old daughter and sometimes i get legit sad when i look at her laughing and playing. She's innocent and pure right now. She's unaware of the evils of the world. She's unaware of racism. She doesnt see color. My views of the world has completely changed since she was born. I have a very pessimistic view of society now and sometimes i regret bringing somebody whom i love so dearly into this world.

Certain people are just wired differently mentally. Being "aware" is a gift and a curse i guess. You have a brilliant mind OP, dont think nobody notices. I certainly do.

Get help if thats what you feel you need to do. We need more brothers like you spreading knowledge:salute:
yeah thats true....the more u learn, the darker your view of the world will become...

I never had depression so I can't speak for that part of it but I don't know anyone who takes medication for it who says they feel better because they take it. That can be said for pretty much all meds. It seems like they just make people feel a different kind of terrible.

The answer is to find the real reason you're anxious or depressed and deal with that. Just focusing on the chemical side of things won't fix that.

i appreciate the kind words, good luck with raising your daughter, shell be fine bro. I always wanted kids but now I'm scared, I don't know if I can protect their future or if I'm mentally stable enough to give them the proper guidance ....I wouldn't want them to see life like me, so I would have to lie and just pretend everything is perfect i guess... I rather have naive kids...like u said ignorance is bliss

Took Lexipro for about a year, which, along with sone cpt techniques, made a pretty significant difference in like a month. Definitely in a much better place now, working, socialising, gf etc. Nowhere near as much anxiety.

At the same time my ex has been on and off meds for years to no avail. The physical side effects hit her pretty hard and she has much deeper problems than I do. So it's different for everyone.

Yeah, it's scary but they work. If you get the right ones. I'd definetly recommend them if you're really sick. You wont be able to get high or cum though * No homo* and certain ones makes you feel like a zombie
