Every other weekend I use to go somewhere.

First I used light rail, then the China bus, then taking flights.

The flights I would plan on 3 day weekends.

It's really cheap. So instead of spending money on drinks and food I would spend it on a ticket somewhere.

I also would use my points from my credit cards.

I agree about flying but with Chinatown buses on the east coast is doable you can ride down to Philly, DC, Baltimore from NY for less than 100 bucks round trip, as well as the cities in VA and NC.

frequent flyer program + plan ahead and a single person can be all over the country 3 weekends out of the month. the biggest expense isn't airfare, it's hotel stays unless you know people in the destination cities.

Whats your fly out/in schedule?

A couple things play into that 1 being work and 2 being available tickets depending what I plan on doing.

With my job we have projects not days, so if I finish all our projects for the week by wednesday I am good for the week. That rarely happens but when it does, I do mini vacations. I never do full 1-2 weeks so for me I do

Pick a project week where I can work 35-40 hours mon-wed then Wed night ( I work wed, leave from EWR) and come back sunday night. So I am gone wed-sun, but take 0 days off of work. I do Punta Cana 2x a year this way.

As far as weekend quick ones. Depends on my friends, my boy got hookups in LV so hes my first choice, if hes in the area, I would check tickets real late on thursday and try to find straggler tickets fri night to sun anytime. Florida I do quicker ones I have done sat-sun.

It changes a lot, i am more concerned about my work PTO days then anything else. I get 15 a year and I mastered that shyt.. Last year I went to DR, LV x2, Miami 1x and in december I still had 13 days to use

I have homie that has been doing it for about a year, it's not every weekend but its at least, twice a month. He goes anywhere from just N.O to New york, florida.... pretty much anywhere in the states.


Needless to say he's pretty much burned through all his extra cash. I don't have the energy to do it. I'd be highly upset getting home sunday night at 10 and having to work monday morning at 8... It would pretty much ruin my week.

I don't fly out every weekend but I do fly about once a month for work, but I don't have time to just chill all day like you talking about, but I do try to go out every night when I can

You do resorts when you go to punta cana? You speak spanish?

Yea I go to resorts pretty much cuase i dont speak spanish, a couple friends do but they cant come everytime. I am a fan of Occidental Grand for a couple reasons, clean place, good food, treat you awesome and there is a local club called Mangu that is like 30ft away from outside the resort.

A couple friends go to the city area and have a blast but they speak spanish so its easier for them.
