I like Dostoyevsky, Faulkner, dikkens, Tolstoy, Scliar, García Marquez, Ursula K LeGuin, Steinbeck, Turgeneyev and Balzac (Eugenie Grandet was so damn anticlimatic though). I tried Neale Hurston's Their Eyes Were Watching God recently and the writing was beautiful but I thought Tea Cake was an ass How he gonna beat his wife to get back at the Turners?

I haven't read Murakami though. Am I sleeping on him?

Big fan of all the historical authors listed, plus the author of A Lesson Before Dying (Ernest Gaines) and William Faulkner. I also enjoy Nella Larsen, John Grisham and Tom Clancy. Unfortunately I rarely have time to read for pleasure anymore grad school got a nikka reading list packed
