Yeah, last Saturday. Was ok, felt long, unfocused, the subplots were numerous, and most went nowhere, and it wasn't very funny....I though 'Funny People' was hilarious, while including some real drama, and serious moments, this was uneven, I thought Apatow was upping his game on this one, but it felt like a step back, too much juvenile/toilet humor, instead of actual observations about life at 40, or whatever. Albert Brooks and the supporting performances are all really good, the daughters are too, mostly, Apatow is a bit too indulgent, I think. The sum didn't equal the whole...

I thought it was funny as hell but it was long as fukk and didn't really have a plot. After the first hour I still didn't know what the point of the movie was.

Wow, Apatow ain't had a good movie since both Knocked and The 40 Year Virgin.

I thought This Is 40 was going to be a return to his Knocked Up humor yet good movie making days, I guess not. :beli:

I actually took Leslie Mann’s side in the movie.I give it 2.5 out of 5. This is the best use of Megan Fox ever, so if this is what she was talking about when she said wanted to be in more character driven films, then screw Michael Bay. The film does feel like a collection of Saturday Night Live skits but they are woven together better in this film than in previous Judd Apatow films. The film does start off pretty slow. If Leslie Mann actually showed the goods instead of the CGI nudity I would give it 3.

saw it last weekend...

It really was not focused, but then I thought of the title of the movie and figured, thats probably just how life at 40 is...

You deal with BS, get mad at each other for no reason, have money issues, and shyt just on and on...basically you just roll with the punches

There was no huge issue in the movie to be resolved...i don't know if that was the point or not...to show that life at 40 u deal with alot of BS from your partner, but eventually you kiss and make up

felt almost exactly like his last few movies. had its moments, shoved his family down our throats, not especially funny, and long.

No mo, but Paul Rudd is just a charming (i cant think of a less gay word) dude. He's good in everything.

Also, I might be in the minority... but, can we take a break from Jason Segal for a while?

wtf was the point of john lithgow shhit and why werent Rogen and Heigel the supporting characters

I think funny people was a very good film and the best sandler has been since well billy/happy/punch drunk

I would never watch this again, but it was worth a watch. Cant complain about Appatow's kids cause the older one is actually very good. Seigel and that asian broad shouldnt of been in the film at all

Interesting to see where Appatow goes from here he isnt gonna be able to do whatever he wants after loosing $ on this and he also will need somethin fresh
