Anybody still wear dress pants/slacks to a job that allows casual wear (i.e. jeans/t-shirts)

I do, but I noticed for some reason my potential partners/clients always just show up in Golf Shirts and Slacks, so I started dressing down a bit to make me seem more approachable. Like you said though it does have to with environment/type of work, but I’m assuming if the whole office is casual they probably aren’t dealing with many face to face deals.

yeah i guess it depends on your office. the offices i've been have never been on that "match the energy" code. it's always business m-th, casual friday. and casual friday doesn't mean sneakers and tshirts. they had to send a note out about casual friday that the last time we were in the office lol :snoop: and even on friday, if you had a client meeting or public appointment, it's business attire

That’s one advantage of being my own boss, however being that I’m not white I still try to out dress everyone I have a meeting with. (Which isn’t hard, most of these dudes can’t even be bothered to tuck their shirts in or buy some smart casual shoes. Showing up to discuss millions of dollars worth of transactions in Nike Monarchs :hhh:. )

Where It’s Not Safe
OP one of two things will happen to you

1. You show up well put together and management respects you for it.

2. They look at you as a try hard who thinks he can suck up to management by putting on some nice clothes.
Basically.

In other words OP, try to dress in a way that’s relaxed but still GQ.
