* i didnt read your whole post* you can't regulate opinion. This is a free country we can feel free to feel anything we want. But honestly know one thinks about these people. you must align yourself in these circles to know two. all of the other stuff you said is just liberal gibberish trying to control they way people feel about something that is not natural. No one is stopping them from living their lives. its the fact that they and the LGBT community as a whole is forcing people to except their sex acts and minsets as normal is whats the problem. Live your life and be yourself but let people that are not in your circles or share your opinions live thier lives also.

you're totally right that it's a free country and you can feel however you want to feel. we're just having a discussion. and yeah, transgendered people aren't a high visibility group in society. but they're not asking for anything from society but to be treated with dignity. it's your freedom and right to choose whether you want to do so, same as the white supremacist is free to believe that blacks are subhuman animals. that's the tradeoff we get from living in a free society. i'm just trying to figure out why you or anyone else would willingly choose to deny another human being basic dignity over something that's not hurting you and they can't control.

As for being accepted, the fact that we live in a society means that we're subject to the forces and pressures of social living. Humans are social animals, so feeling accepted is an integral part of a healthy mindset. As John Donne said "No man is an island." So when society deems their very being unacceptable, I would consider that a force stopping transgendered people from living their lives. Now, the question becomes, is their being so offensive and detrimental to you that you're ok with them being deemed unacceptable by society? You mentioned that it's not natural, so I'm going to assume your antipathy to transgendered people is due to a fallacious appeal to nature (please correct me if i'm wrong). But even granting your illogical preference for what is "natural", the term is defined as "existing in or caused by nature". The vast majority of studies on human sexuality and gender identity would point to the formation of these very fundamental traits as occurring in childhood, ergo natural. I don't know about you, but as far back as I can remember I've felt like a male. Luckily for me, I was born with a male anatomy. Some people were not as lucky as I was. I don't believe society should punish or ostracize them for that.

Ultimately, it's up to you to decide what beliefs you find valid and what beliefs you find reprehensible. I'm just interested in your thought process on the matter.

shouldn't he lose his medals as a man if he's a woman :skip:

his nimble feminine step carried him to victory all those many years ago

no

because you know what that leads to at the end of the day? my tax dollars going to these freaks' surgeries and other accomodations, and im not tryna go down that road :heh:

Some states will pay for the surgery and the therapy even if the person doesn't have health insurance. Oregon is one of the most recent states.

And people are actually calling him courageous. :laff::laff:

It seems like the line between bravery and foolishness is a very fine line nowadays.

Legally (depending on your state), you do not need female anatomy to be considered a woman. Her sex is male. Her gender is female. What you consider a woman is different from what others might. As far as I know, it is up to the state to decide what they qualify as a female/male/woman/man. Again, I'm not well versed on this because I've never actually researched it in depth and I can't give you a drawn out argument on it, but to me, she is a woman because she A) identifies as a woman & B) has felt like a girl since childhood and I'll take her word for it. Like she said, she is still attracted to women because who you are attracted to is not dependent on your gender. I believe that sexuality and gender isn't as rigid as we assume it is. :yeshrug:
