I was 11 and we were playing the US Open Cup, U-11, 3rd round at home against some CAC Long Island team. It was 90 degrees and dry, suffocating heat amongst a patchy dirt field. It was extra time, 110th minute of a 1-1 game, and I started coming down with cramps. I won't lie, it was horrible and I had to lay down for a minute. The ref stopped the game and we were out of subs, so I had no decision but to keep soldiering on.
You don't have to play
the coach told me, but I wanted to continue.
Don't worry, I can go for 10 more minutes, I said.
I continued on and ended up scoring the winning goal in the 115th.
Why couldn't LeBron do this, when I overcame cramps at age 11??? 11 ffs
+ AND still scored the game winning goal. He's pathetic.
