Anyone been to an AA meeting before?

I have though not by choice, didn’t resonate with me personally but I can see how some may find regular meetings necessary.

It went well

He was smashin this cute puerto rican bunny for months

She told him she gets drunk and wakes up with 3-4 dudes and got divorced cuz of her blackouts/sexcapades

I had to take 3 classes after a DUI. shyt should be illegal since all the "classes" they make you take or the community service is for religious organizations. AA is also church based on the downlow. Basically a bunch of people who can't handle alcohol mad that other people can go out and drink without getting stupid. I kidn of lost respect for that crowd.

It’s unfortunate many people from AA are fairly close mindined and act like theirs is the only path, even though actual science suggests there are other more effective methods for people with substance abuse.

Not nearly as much as previously. Lost my mom a few months back and went on a heavy bender. Ive settled down tremendously.

Ya ion think ima ever stop drinking but the AA meeting did teach me what would happen if I don’t slow down with it

I got sober in 2006, and AA was a part of it, I lived in a halfway house for 18 months or so, and had to go to meeting everyday for awhile. I never full subscribed, it's just one tool in sobriety, if it works for you. But, every addict or alcoholic will say "i can't do AA because of god", it's really just finding common ground with other people.

Job sent me to rehab a while back. Went every day for 30 days. It was ok. The military is still making me go 3x a week till I get out

It’s decent, but for me I had to handle the root cause of why I drank before I slowed down. While I was in the hospital, saw some guys going through withdrawals. Some fcked up stuff to see

Withdrawals no joke.
I used to come home to my moms on the floor having a seizure or the shakes.
One time she was in ICU and she was hallucinating and they said they didnt give her medicine. I dropped her off that morning amd the next day she couldnt evem recognize me. She didnt realize she was in the hospital thought she was in her bedroom.

They was tryna watch over her because they can die from the DTs or tremors.
