You mean dirty bulking right?
There really isn't a clean or dirty bulk. They are both silly if done without enhancements, imo. People just don't understand. Lets say you spend 3 months bulking, you increase your calories by a substantial amount. And you have been working out for years, lets say 3 years. You spend the first month increasing your overall fat% while also retaining a significant amount of water, because lets be honest the foods that will get you those surplus calories are high in things like that. So you gain 14lb over 3 months. Lets break that down to 10lbs of fat gained and 3lb of water weight, actually a lot more but I'm keeping it simple, and maybe you gained a 1 of muscle, maybe. That is considering you do everything correctly and never slack off, that takes a lot of dedication and people that compete naturally have my respect, if they do so without any enhancements. I could never recommended doing the whole cut and bulk nonsense as a natty unless that person is just starting out. If you are not competing don't waste you time with that. Either stick to workouts that maximize your explosiveness or the condition of your cardiovascular system. If you are just working out for looks and you are going the whole bulk and cut route, you are wasting your time, plain and simple.
