I've been to a few quality places in NYC that have nice cheeses and meats.
If you're going to have people over for wine, it's nice to make a little charcuterie board.

Iberian ham, prosciutto, different types of gouda cheese, etc...

It's dope.

You might end up paying like $20-25 or more per pound, but for those once in a while occasions, why not?
Oh hell nah I just put that shyt in my personal shopping bag ..I ain't paying for cheese more than $10...

Respect the good & understand the bad
I'm here for this thread. I love cheese. That new woman is decent.

There's a seasonal Halloween cheese I been tryna find that has extra garlic. I think it's called. Vampire slayer. I'm also a sucker for damn near any gruyere.

Me and my wife were just eating some slices of gruyere a couple minutes ago :eat:

It’s good in potatoes au gratin too

I love cheese in all its forms.

Smoked cheddar on a grilled cheese sandwich with caramelised onions.

Baked Camembert with sun dried tomatoes fresh baked bread, whole roasted garlic spread, Apple jam

Grilled goats cheese with balsamic glaze and arugula salad

Feta cheese on pumpkin pasta/ gnocchi

Boursin on anything

Charcuterie board with jams, fruit, chutneys, hot honey and fresh toasted baguettes, all the different meats, blue cheese, hard cheese, soft cheese, rosemary crackers, grapes, apple slices etc

Gorgonzola on pizza is delicious with pancetta, leeks, rosemary and chilli.

I could go on and on.

I was in north Hollywood for a show years back. At a backyard show. And the resident chef mad a gruyere panini with bacon jam. I don't do pork but I've found some okay substitutes with raspberry, paprika/old bay and a dash of everything seasoning mixed into whatever mayo/butter/etc cooking agent. Remade it as a toasted cheese in the skillet . It's fire.

Not just for you but for the thread and young brehs:

Heat a skillet to mid or mid high (seven or less)

Grease 2 pieces of bread with butter, mayo, or if you lit, cream cheese and sprinkle

  • Sesame seeds
  • Paprika
  • Craked pepper
  • Or just everything seasoning
A tablespoon of raspberry jam between the cheese slices, not on the bread

2-3 minutes each side. This will make your bread dark so lift up if you like it soft. Kale and baked chicken are great additions. This has also worked great with leftover biscuits. But I'll post that recipe at a different time.

shyt is tight. I sometimes add other cheeses but it's a good hangover or please the bae sandwich.

I've never cooked that shyt and ended up headless lmao.

If I find a moment, I'll post my habanero spinach croissant recipe.

Gnocchi deserves it's own thread eventually. Deadass. It's special.

I’d replace the raspberry jam with bacon jam
And this would be good I think

I made some pumpkin gnocchi from scratch this week. I’m working on the recipe, gonna try and finish it up today. Here’s my first attempt please don’t flames me 😅 cos my gnocchi look like dog ears :russ:

One handed kneading is trash. I roasted some pumpkin then combined it with flour and salt till it wasn’t sticky anymore. I wasn’t measuring. This dish can easily be vegan btw.
YJvTcLj.jpeg

Rested the dough for 2 hours, cos I had to go to the gym. You don’t have to rest it that long 10 mins is fine.

APyaONg.jpeg

I rolled into a long tube then cut with a knife into small pillow like sections and tossed them in flour so they don’t stick . Then rolled the pillows down the back of a fork (optional). It just creates more grooves for the sauce or whatever to stick to. Then I chucked it into gently boiling water till they floated to the top. ( that’s how you know they’re cooked)

ucbVGOt.mp4

Then I fried fresh chopped garlic, rosemary, thyme and sage in some butter (you can use vegan butter) Once the herbs are infused and the butter has started to turn brown then fling in the gnocchi. Toss toss toss and dassit.
WnzaXDk.jpeg

I topped with paprika, Parmesan and feta. I didn’t put feta on it till after I started to eat it so didn’t get a pic. But don’t skip the feta if you eat it. If you’re vegan obviously use vegan cheese where applicable.
