Social Media is such an Illusion.
Most of my Entertainment Industry friends get 100's of likes a day even posting ridiculously mundane Statuses & you have people commenting feeding their Ego because they believe if they get close enough this person will put them on. Judging by their Social Media accounts you would believe they were living the dream, drowning in money & every week their lives resemble an episode of Entourage. They all have pictures with nice clothes, with celebrities, at events, red carpets, behind the scenes, etc & people eat it up.
Meanwhile behind the curtain when I'm around they are all miserable & living check to check doing things to get paid that Morally bother them & can't stand having to play "the game" in order to keep with with the False Image they portray to the world. Always on the verge of quitting but fear that would make them look like failures since they're not swimming in money like Scrooge McDuck & don't want anyone to expose their false sense of importance. It's very sad.
Then I have friends who display their lives on Social Media as if everything is great... always taking pictures with their spouses & calling it real love & nicknames yet unplugged all they do is complain about them & are always on the lookout for the next "upgrade." For example... & trust me... 1 of 100's I could write... I know a girl who everyone believes has the perfect relationship because of how she always talks about having the "greatest husband ever" yet around others she talks about how he isn't shyt & she wishes they would've never gotten Married & how they don't have Sex anymore, etc.
Then I have Male friends that would make you believe they're good dudes, fathers, boyfriends, husbands, etc. One example is my friend who all he does is post about his Wife & how he thanks God for allowing them to be together as Soulmates yet he's in the club every other weekend & always bragging to us about recent threesomes & smashing dudes girls. Another is a guy who appears as Daddy Of The Year with his daughter on FB & IG & have people always saying they wish other Men loved their kids the way he does yet his Baby Momma says he's a fraud & only sees his daughter once a month for a couple hours for photo opportunities & never even tries to see her more than that. She's always offering him to come take his daughter for weekends at a time, to pick her up from school, take her out for some fun during the week, etc... & he doesn't because he doesn't care as much as he displays. He also says it's easier to bag women because they think he's such a good father.
My cousin was complaining about her boyfriend saying he's fat now & doesn't give her the same attention he used to & how we shouldn't be surprised if her relationship status changes any day now & has even talked about getting up with a dude she works with. Yet every picture with him is "Me & My Heart" & "Love Of My Life" etc...
In this day & age you can make people believe you are whatever you want them to believe & most never 2nd guess it. The age of False Idols & people displaying False Images to feel important & feed their Ego because they need others praise & admiration to feel "defined" has definitely created a dangerous culture where people are never happy because they are chasing the false happiness of others. It's sad.
