Breh
Going to Blockbuster with my lady was damn near like going on a date.
Took like 30 min to find a handful of movies to rent. Grab a couple video games too.
It was something about having to choose and have to follow through with the choice.
It still takes me half an hour to find a movie on ALL the streaming services but I find myself bailing on movies after the opening scene or after the first act, or halfway through.
All the way back when there were only a dozen channels, you ALWAYS found something to watch. As a child I used to watch Dr Who, Monty Python, and Bennie Hill not knowing what the fukc I was even watching. You had your azz up with cereal on deck every Saturday morning. Cartoons. I watched MASH, Grizzly Adams, and Greatest American Hero. And of course all the fly shyt like Knight Rider, Hulk, and A Team.
Blockbuster seemed vast but was harder to pick something. Once you got to looking you only saw a few things that grabbed you.
Now, since I have every movie ever, I don't know where to even begin some nights. If it's dope, I've seen it. I saw all the dope movies from the past decades and as soon as they put one out now, I watch it ASAP (cause of the aforementioned difficulty finding something good).
Just like everything else 90s was peak civilization, Blockbuster nights were the peak of 'on demand' at home entertainment.
