The only thing we got left that's a relic of the past is the arcades. We can't let them die the same way Blockbuster did :mjcry:

I was a store manager at Blockbuster for several years so reading this brings back many memories. :to:

Luckily here in Houston they have a few adult arcades with retro games where once a month the bar next door lets you bring drinks in so you can get hammered while playing arcade games from the 80’s and 90’s. There’s also a game museum that does the same thing every weekend

Going to Blockbuster with my lady was damn near like going on a date.

Took like 30 min to find a handful of movies to rent. Grab a couple video games too.

It was something about having to choose and have to follow through with the choice.

It still takes me half an hour to find a movie on ALL the streaming services but I find myself bailing on movies after the opening scene or after the first act, or halfway through.

All the way back when there were only a dozen channels, you ALWAYS found something to watch. As a child I used to watch Dr Who, Monty Python, and Bennie Hill not knowing what the fukc I was even watching. You had your azz up with cereal on deck every Saturday morning. Cartoons. I watched MASH, Grizzly Adams, and Greatest American Hero. And of course all the fly shyt like Knight Rider, Hulk, and A Team.

Blockbuster seemed vast but was harder to pick something. Once you got to looking you only saw a few things that grabbed you.

Now, since I have every movie ever, I don't know where to even begin some nights. If it's dope, I've seen it. I saw all the dope movies from the past decades and as soon as they put one out now, I watch it ASAP (cause of the aforementioned difficulty finding something good).

Just like everything else 90s was peak civilization, Blockbuster nights were the peak of 'on demand' at home entertainment.

If I ever go out to Oregon, I'm definitely going to visit the last Blockbuster store in the world that's there. Blockbuster brings back good memories of good times.
