I used to the able to throw QUITE a few back in my 20s. But now, creeping up on 40, I feel disgusting when I drink. That come down is awful. And don’t take a nap when you’re drunk. You wake up feeling like death.

I remember those nights when I knew I drank too much, and was wishing I’d throw up so I could go to sleep. But now, the I don’t even like the smell of alcohol.

I was an alcoholic most of my 20s and 30s

At 39 I hit it with the :camby:

Alcohol used to be fun as hell when I was younger. Wasn’t many feelings better than the feeling of coming home, pouring a drink and freaking a black with some music in the background :ohlawd:

But as I started getting up in my 30s it made me feel like trash. I’d need a whole day to recover :hhh:

Haven’t drank in going on 2 years :banderas:

Not sure if I’ll ever drink again but it will most likely be a once maybe twice a month thing if I do

Drinking a ton of beer definitely don't hit the same, and getting blotto wasted has lost almost all of its appeal

However I've discovered the joy of wine in my 30's, and getting a moderate buzz feels better on one level cause of all the various nagging soreness/injuries I've accumulated :flabbynsick:

Completely stopped drinking once the pandemic hit. Especially once i peeped how it was making alot of people alcoholics and folks were getting all fat and swole up. I already didnt keep alcohol in my place because Im predisopsed to alcoholism on both sides. Gotta fight the power. Never going back

Can say that the morning afterwards, the drunk feeling and the overall effects to my body as I age ain't what's up.

Took the entire last year off from it and felt the immediate effects (i.e. awareness, cognitive improvements).

Told myself that I may give it up entirely after this year. :wow:

I enjoy drinking more now cuz I’m more intentional about it

But the consequences now I’m older are a little higher, I was binge drinking two months ago; developed a bad case of hiccups where if I smoked I’d have hiccups for 2-3 hours

Also the alcohol clearly impairs my decision making especially wit the hoes

So it’s a wash fr
