Social drinking was fun for me when I lived in New York City and the bar scene and club scene had a diverse crowd to it.

Now that I live in Denver where that scene is majority white, I don't have fun and I don't want to go to bars cause I don't like being the only black guy at a bar. Or the only black person in a space period. I'm being honest.

Last time I went to a bar with people here in Denver 4 years ago, I noticed I was the only non-white person there and didn't want to stay at all. After 2 drinks I left. Didn't even stay for 20 minutes. fukk that noise.

I dont like alcohol i do not see it as fun, taking a beer or two is not the same as taking hard liquor.

2 drink max for me when going out, and I'll go months with no type of drink. I rather

No nasty hangover, no next day recovery. Just puff heavily and get p*ssy with my father's features.

It takes me 2 drinks to get a nice buzz, 3 to actually be ‘tipsy’ so it’s no point.

I still get the ‘wow you look young’ and I want to keep it that way. African genes. I have a cousin who never drank he’s 45 and legit looks 27,28

The thing with alcohol is you can’t see it effecting you bc it’s a slow process, but
it accumulates over time it will puff your face, age you, etc . It’s not worth it.

The only time I drink now is if I go to a spot and it’s hella bytches and I’m just motivated to act up. Never made sense to me dudes drunk beers to just sit around , or in the movies they always pour a glass of scotch or bourbon just sitting at the house. Mfer for what? :heh:

I’ll drink wine tho. I’ll got to a day party and be like gimme wine but in a regular glass. Not trying to walk around with no big ass glass bruh
Word, aging is the main motivator that stops me from drinking. My brother doesn't drink at all, he's 40 looking early 30s.

Too much drinking got people looking way too old. Body looking weird too, especially for women.

That will successfully prevent a hangover, sure. But what that wont successfully reverse the effects of drinking :francis:

(Didn’t even use that smiley on purpose, but, yea)

The Truth
I fight with it

I’ve had some good times but it has mostly been bad outcomes

Especially now that I’m older. shyt takes like 3 full days to get out of my system if I get drunk. I prefer to stay away from it, but with where I’m at, it gets pretty lonely and it tends to make me want to get out and be talkative. And there are times where I over think, so I go out to not think so much or will drink and hop on 2k. But it’s very very expensive and the next few days have me feeling physically and mentally like shyt.

I guess my problem is I go months without it then just binge. Everyday is a fight. Naltrexone helps but sometimes I just want to have fun.

Trying to quit altogether now. Or at least, find a way to drink without the bullshyt. Maybe switch to wine or something but idk

I dont even touch that stuff. I've been straight edge since college
Friends and my girl ask why not?

I realize I never needed it. I still have fun without it.
The amount of programming that's around social drinking is heavy in the states

But it's good for your health to lay off it

Nope, the hangovers aren't worth it anymore. I still get lit on occasion, but every weekend? At home by myself? Those days are gone

Pretty much stopped drinking alcohol when I quit my office job. Looking back the only reason I was even drinking was for social functions, which in retrospect was kinda corny. Don't miss it at all.
