I see you're up on AJATT. Is that how you've been learning from the beginning?

I've been using dude's philosophy for learning Spanish and plan to ladder Japanese with Spanish once I have some mastery, since I love anime and Japanese wrestling.
Yeah I've been using that method since day one. Every day all day or as much as possible I have Japanese stuff going on around me(music, audio from TV, Japanese text from phone etc.)
As long as it's funy you're learning even if it doesn't feel like it.

I started teachin' myself Spanish a while back with Duolingo. I was doin' good as far as the lessons, but never tested myself via conversation. I haven't studied in months, so I'm sure I fell way off. I'm restartin' tonight.

Unfortunately, I don't have the luxury of spendin' months at a time in another country right now. I'm considerin' addin' a formal class to my independant studies.

Dated a Puerto Rican chick back in the day. She would teach me random shyt though. I was fluent in the bedroom, at the dinnin' room table & with money.

you make time for the things you really want to do is how i see it :yeshrug:. it wasn't a college, it was a language studies institute. twice a week at night for 2 hours. I did this for a couple months to get a foundation of basic grammar & vocabulary, and then started focusing more on live natural conversations with Brasilians on Skype. This is the book we used in the class:

yea brasilian portugues it's different akin to how mexican spanish & argentinian spanish are different from spain spanish

I went to a lot of forro parties there and Falamansa seems to be a popular band. Listen to some of their songs. This is an easy one to follow: Rindo à Toa.

Sorry could you link me the book again? I'm about to start learning in earnest and it's dead :feedme:

It's not that hard. I can fully read, write, talk & understand 3 different languages. You act as if it's impossible :manny:

Ana Bakalem 3arabi (masryeen). I've learned Egyptian Arabic pretty well.

I'm not that familliar with the Egyptian dialect, but I think Ana Batkalem 3arabi would be more correct, but it's not that big of a deal :yeshrug:
