Royal caribbean is more elegant and laid back and seem to have a mature... carnival is lit, with a younger crowd.. their ships are nice, but royal caribbean ships are which is why they're more expensive.

Perfect assessment. I'm platinum on Carnival and Emerald on RCCL. Love cruising. Went on my first one with this shorty in 2000 and have been hooked ever since. The one I have booked in November is a Journeys Carnival cruise out of Baltimore. It will be my 30th.

Royal Carribean is better than Carnival to me. Carnival is cool though. The port of Miami is the best port to sail out of.
