How long did it take for you to quit? What did you do to help you quit?

iv'e quit (for a few months each time) and started again a few times. i just decided to stop smoking. it's not that hard really. the nicotine is only in your system for 24 hours. everything after that is just habit. plus food tastes better and your sense of smell comes back proper. there are soooo many benefits to quitting smoking.

I never smoked.
Because, you know, they give you cancer.

But you should quit. I heard chewing gum helps.

I smoked for 16 years. Tried to stop various times. Essentially I needed chantix, and stepped down gradually from a pack a day to half a pack a day in week 2, 5 a day in week 3, then eventually the craving for cigarettes became so small, I was able to not buy a pack when I ran out. I also stopped hanging around friends that smoked and encouraged me to smoke and stopped drinking while I was attempting to stop smoking because alcohol is enhanced by liquor. After about 5-7 days of no cigarettes, the physical symptoms of nicotine are gone and it's all mental. Good luck.

Cold turkey - failed twice and each time went back harder/more cigs than before
Third time worked when I quit alcohol for a whole year because they go together so well :ohlawd:

Side note: Ten+ years clean and every now and then I catch a whiff and be like :noah::lupe:

Good luck

I'm not really trying to quit necessarily. Right now I want to take a break until December just to prove that I can quit whenever I want because lately I've been craving nicotine more often and smoking more than I planned to. I haven't had a cig in the past 5 days and I've been getting massive headaches since I stopped. Good to know physical symptoms can go away within a week

I quit by spending money on getting my teeth whitened and didn't want the money to be spent for nothing.

How did you even get started:scusthov:
I got offered a cig in high school and liked it. Same way I started with weed lol

EDIT: I completely get how and why people think it's a gross, stupid, and bad habit, but I just genuinely like smoking cigarettes *shrug*

I smoked a cig too but its just struggle weed. You feel :ahh: for about 7 seconds then its gone. Even if you dont feel like being LOUD high, cop some reggie and get that same :ahh: for about an hour.

How people get hooked to cigs is beyond me.

even cigars, milds, etc get :camby: status when you experience trees

Once you're past the first week it's easy.

Avoid people who smoke at all cost and start a new hobby to get your mind off smoking.

Wellbutrin is good for quitting too. It's a mild anti depressant with virtually no side effects

Low dose naltrexone is used for opiate addicts but it's also good for quitting a habit like porn addiction, smoking and etc...

I haven't smoked in close to 6 months. Just avoid any triggers, work on your willpower and you're good.
