I did the same thing. I'm one week cig free. It's was easy this time around because of chantix. It severely reduced the physical addiction. Everything else was psychological which for me was not a big deal. I know 7 days may not sound like a lot, but I have never been able to go more than two days without smoking in the last 10 years.
Doesn't the chantix fukk w/ your mental and give you nightmares and shyt? I tried Wellbutrin once. Didn't do shyt for me

i can quit when i start dipping tobacco hard. But since that isn't kosher where i am and people just look at you as an animal for spitting i end up going back to cigs. I'v quit twice by dipping for a month and then just stopping but i got back into it by just habit, workplace. In the end you just need to stop like you started, you just do it.

I read some scary stuff regarding the side effects of Chantix, but in my experience the only side effect I suffered was my dreams became way more vivid. I didn't have any more nightmares than I had before using Chantix. The sex dreams though :whew: I felt like a teenager again.

I actually think the tobacco companies might be behind some of the fear mongering that you find online. I postponed taking Chantix for years because of what I read online. All I can say is give it a try and see what happens. Medication affects people differently.

Now did you start popping pills and quit immediately or did you slowly wane yourself off? Been smoking for 18-19 yrs now

Yeah it do it does shyt made me anti social af, and sensitive, like i was feeling sorry or down on myself type stuff. The dreams you have on it are vivid/crazy,Id actually look forward to them.I had no nightmares. It did help me quit, for two months, you wont want a smoke at all after a couple days. I only took it for a week, because of the side affects.

I think Chantix and other meds designed to help people quick work by becoming a replacement of sorts for nicotine delivery. I remember I smoked for years and then switched to Snus. I did snus for a couple of years and I kid you not...one day I simply woke up and decided I didn't need snus nor cigarettes again. And that was simply that. I swear I didn't even experience any withdrawals. I occasionally sit down and wonder what mechanism in my mind allowed it to be so easy that time after failing other times. Was it because the Snus allowed a higher and constant amount of nicotine into my bloodstream and it desensitized my system from it? If you left it in your mouth while you slept you would have crazy dreams. Not only were they vivid, they would be about the wildest situations. I remember one that has stayed with me. Jesus was standing next to my bed holding an egg that had tentacles breaking out of it. I wasn't even scared....it was the most natural thing in the world as far my dream self was concerned.

I don't even think Snus is still sold in the states. It had been big overseas for centuries before it hit the states. It was supposed to be safer(I know I know) and it probably was(I know I know but all these nicotine delivery methods have varying degrees of safety keep it 100). Even though I'm not quite sure how it worked, I'm glad I started fooling around with it, because I likely wouldn't have quit smoking without it. I don't recommend it to anyone though. It was a substitution for a stronger delivery that somehow led to full blown quitting altogether. Probably isolated as hell.

.....the taste of food and the smells after you drop those cigs though.....:blessed::stylin:

Japan, but from the 989
Quit for six months, smoked for three, then just quit again back in December. I found it for me it was boredom that had me smoking cigs. I didn't use aides or anything, I just quit for a week and then I didn't feel like smoking. Every once in a while I think about it..but then I just say..naw.

fukk it, I'll use this thread as my cessation group. Go holla at my doc later on today see if she can hook me up. Wonder if I can take this with lunesta (for sleep apnea and insomnia) and not die from it? How does chantix mess with your energy levels? I'm pretty active(run 10-15k's and half marathons).

You cut down gradually. I went from almost one pack a day to half a pack to like three to none over a 3 week period.
