Housing gonna b a big cost for OP. My shytty basic azz 1bedroom apt is $1500 and thats considered a bargain.

Even studios are like $1200

U gonna need a couple roomates if you wanna be under $1000 a month

Those prices are ridiculous:what:

My place is 500 sqft
In Chicago I paid same price for a 1400 sqft with real hardwood floors....updated kitchen n yard

Shyt is ridiculous here...im head back to Chi or ATL soon

You can find spots a lil cheaper but u gotta really look hard or get lucky and know somebody moving outta town who has a rent controlled spot

At 26, you better be one focused ass breh Barnett when it comes to your educational success. Your job is simple anywhere you go. Create a plan, build connects, do internships, be humble, ask a lot of questions, see how people move and learn as many skills as possible and app tools to your benefit. The best thing about you is you used to be in the Navy so with the connects and contacts, you real close to San Diego and someone probably can put you on. The goal should be by 33, you want to be a six figure nikka and some change. It's also good to have a good girl out there. Someone who can hold you down and you can hold her down. A lot of options in LA. It ain't Chicago.

You got focus and a foundation from the Navy but you need more to get the bag.

Hey I noticed you actually sat your ass back down to get to that Junior status.

That takes a lot of hard work and courage.

I am curious do you plan to live off campus? If you are I would imagine that would be a bigger issue.

Will probably live on campus at any school I attend.

USC is just a generic good school nothing that'll make your career or some shyt

I'd go to UIUC if you're in-state there

It really depends on industry. LA is entertainment and more usc and ucla people are there, cal and Stanford run Silicon Valley (along with mit and Harvard). But, in ranking the Cali schools

1. Stanford
2. Cal
3. UCLA
4. USC
SC ain't got shyt on Pomona and Harvey Mudd

I shouldn't have to mention Caltech which should be top of your list

Caltech shouldn’t be top, that’s an amazing school but very technical and academic, you don’t find caltech grads across all industries, functions, politics and leadership roles. They really do specialize in being technical talent.

Lol @ Pomona and Harvey mudd...again, great schools but being small liberal arts colleges keeps them niche and limits their influence.

As far as the flagship univsities in ca, based on influence, prestige, opportunities after school, representation across prestigious companies/industries, and representation across top grad school programs, my ranking stands. Feel free to create your own...:ld:

you find local state school grads across all industries too, including driving Uber and multi-level marketing, do you give them points for that? the best post-college jobs are in software engineering, research, product management, etc. and if you can't do STEM then maybe MBB consulting, I don't really care who produces more Kraft brand managers and 1Ls at bad law schools, etc

I've heard nothing but good things about Pomona and Harvey Mudd and their small sizes limit the amount of riff raff that gets in, SC is the size of a public school why even go private for a school that size? their SAT ranges are unimpressive too, here they're sandwiched between the prestigious Northeastern and Vassar all the way on page 3: College Rankings - Top 500 Ranked Colleges - Highest SAT 75th Percentile Scores - Page 3 - StateUniversity.com (could've improved since 2015 idk)
