Nah I would not recommend buying a cheap 100 guitar. I be ready to spend around 200 new or 150 used for a decent intermediate guitar. Cheap guitars are made with crap material and cheap strings.
I picked this up back in September :mjlit:

Got that big 70s headstock
-Matching color headstock(rare on strats nowadays)
-2 point trem so it's easier to float

I’ve been wanting to play guitar ever since I was in high school but, never really had the chance to because the opportunity never came up and all the elders around me(who I could go to)stopped playing years ago, so I just gave up on it. Now I’m in my mid to late twenties and the interest/motivation has come back. I just wonder how long will it take for me to learn the 12 string acoustic guitar and electric guitar at a expert level?

Get a teacher or pay for a udemy course and you can get a lot done in 1 year

Whatever teacher or online videos you look at starting out.. make sure they lean towards stuff that interests you

Cop one of those Berkelee guitar method books too. Teaches you how to read sheet music. Has scales and chords in it. Examples and music theory

shyt after about 6 months you should be fairly competent. As long as you practice and review for 45 mins a day most of the week

wouldn't say i play play but i know some chords, know some scales and could do a basic solo that sounds somewhat "melodic".

-i would say practice consistently, learn the right technique from the beginning, don't spend time learning bad techniques cause then you will have to spend more time unlearning it and then time learning the right thing.

-start with blues.

-have a schedule

-have fun with it

-that music theory shyt might sound like nerd babble but trust learning as much as you can about it will pay dividends.

-if you start composing, realize it's not about how complex as far as music theory the piece is or how hard it is to play.

-get yourself an app to tune your guitar but also learn how to tune it by ear

-have a healthy mix between learning scales/chords/techniques and learning actual songs adapted at your level.

I know a few things, here and there. I’ve played more bass than guitar though, but that’s not saying much still

Life
I can play and I taught myself with YouTube videos. It took me like six months to finally realize what I was doing and get good but I practiced everyday after work. Funny cause I did it to try and get girls but there was never an opportunity for me to show off my skills in front of some bytches. I’d already fukked a bytch, she sees my guitar in the corner somewhere and asked if I knew how to play and then I could actually show off my chops.

If you like playing basic 12 Bar Blues, hit up an Open Mic if you have a place that does that.

Nothing beats playing in a live setting

Once you learn basic theory and hum along to notes(ear training).. you can look at any YouTube guitar or music related video and pick up what they’re saying easier. Any genre.

But stick with the one you like the most for now

Back when my theory knowledge was trash it was harder to learn on the internet cause they expect basic knowledge.

Also most of the time when you hear certain people say they never learned theory.. but their compositions are so mathematically near perfect.. they’re lying, especially the white boys lol. They know SOME theory and lie about it for mystique and uniqueness
