wouldn't say i play play but i know some chords, know some scales and could do a basic solo that sounds somewhat "melodic".
-i would say practice consistently, learn the right technique from the beginning, don't spend time learning bad techniques cause then you will have to spend more time unlearning it and then time learning the right thing.
-start with blues.
-have a schedule
-have fun with it
-that music theory shyt might sound like nerd babble but trust learning as much as you can about it will pay dividends.
-if you start composing, realize it's not about how complex as far as music theory the piece is or how hard it is to play.
-get yourself an app to tune your guitar but also learn how to tune it by ear
-have a healthy mix between learning scales/chords/techniques and learning actual songs adapted at your level.
