I'm ignant. I'ma fukk around, learn, post up n play in the parking lot while leaning on my whip when the club close.
:myman:

It's even better when you actually know what you're doing...I think most don't expect us to be good so when you actually are it's :ohlawd:

Get ready for hating ass nikkas tryna show out because you're getting all the attention from the hoes...the bytch nikkas will show themselves quick.

Anyway though I learned mostly with Youtube/ ROCKSMITH ..

Also start with what appeals to you...

When you think of guitar, songs with guitar what is catching your ear the most? The solos or the rythym playing?

Any experience with rocksmith? it looks like guitar hero except you have to learn how to use a real guitar to master.
That's my shyt :ohlawd:

I mean it starts off to where you don't have to master guitar to play the game..

It's teaches you and helps build you up a guitar player..it's a fun way of learning

-You learn new songs that you normally wouldn't discover on your own
-Learn various techniques
-Game starts you off easy, then increases difficulty from there

Guitar isn't hard, but if you're not having fun the practicing will be a drag and thus you won't grow. ROCKSMITH had me playing for hours..

I should also add these tips:

  • Don’t neglect using your pinky finger when playing. Make sure you utilize it equally with your other fingers. You’ll regret it later on if you don’t.
  • Learn every scale possible. Once you understand scales, you’ll understand how chords are built and how basic musicology works.
  • Initially, your fingers will start to peel and you will build callus but that’s just normal.
  • Take your time and then build up your speed when playing a scale or chord progression. It’s not a race.
THIS..

I'm learning the Highway Star solo and once in awhile i'll be feeling myself and try to do it at full speed and :bryan:
Then learn solos...get the tabs for some fun solos you want to learn, of course try to learn by ear as some solos won't be tabbed...

Also scales...Pentatonic Scale will never do you wrong:mjlol:

For like the first year or so of my playing I knew a bunch of solos, but couldn't play a song with chords :pachaha:

Lead work is what really excites me...I can spend hours going through scales soling..

I didn't really start taking chords seriously until like my 3rd year when I got Rocksmith 14 and really started to play guitar daily..

I want to pick up guitar too. I was thinking about starting with with one of those $200 ESPs, I'm mostly into hard rock and metal so I think it will o the job.

Then eventually I'll get one of the Mexican made Fenders if I stick with the hobby.

12 years and own several ESP guitars, one of the companies artists are switching to cuz Gibson is treating their endorsers like trash

Get a metronome and use it

I played a little in High School but only learned like the national anthem cause I wanted to hit it like Hendrix, the peanuts theme song, and smoke on the water. It's pretty easy to learn how to read guitar tabs though WAY easier than reading regular sheet music in my opinion.

I'm learning right now, I have a Fender Strat electric with a little 15w amp. I recently bought Rocksmith for the pc and have been practicing and learning with that, hands down the best music learning software out.

Been playing for about ten years. Currently got a Fender Telecaster but I started with a 200$ Ibanez.

Start off with playing some grunge/alternative rock songs from the 90's, they're fun and get you acclimated.

Start with the cheap $100 guitars. It will take time for your hands/fingers to strengthen.

Best online tutorial here

Nah I would not recommend buying a cheap 100 guitar. I be ready to spend around 200 new or 150 used for a decent intermediate guitar. Cheap guitars are made with crap material and cheap strings.
