Your best shot is going back to school for an MBA.

Investment banks almost exclusively hire unexperienced/new to industry folks from school AFTER said people have completed a summer internship with them.

I honestly wouldn't even try to break in any other way.

I actually want to get into healthcare investment banking. I graduate with my MHA this semester, but I want to get my postbacc in Accounting iwithin the next 3 years. After that I'm going to try and get into healthcare investment banking. WOuld like to get a lot of experience working in finance for a healthcare organization so I can build my resume up for the transition.

Anyone have experience in healthcare investment banking?

goons in the cut tryna talk you out yo necklace
What is stressful about it? Workload? High pressure environment?

How long is your typical day & does it ever require you to do extra reading or learning outside of work hours?
Usually your money is tied to the persons investment. They change that investment, you could lose that money. Also, unless informed or wealthy, it's very hard to get our community to look at investments and retirement. I want to work with us though because the income untapped in our community is astounding and we need to know that. My day starts at 7 ish and ends when I feel I've done enough. It's like running any business, you have to work a lot but the pay can be ridiculous.

What's the parts you hate? What makes you stick with it & not change sectors?
the people, the routine, the hours, the commute, the monotony. i stick w it because i'm old and stepped into quick sand. i'm married w 2 kids and changing careers at my age gets harder and harder and harder. :mjcry:

Damn I hate monotony I cant lie lol. Is work kinda easy? because when something isnt challenging to me, I kind of hate having to do it over and over again.

Hang in there bruh

if you land the right role it can be dynamic, challenging, exciting, all the above. especially at the entry level. my one piece of advice would just be to make the most out of every learning experience you come across and do not get stuck anywhere longer than you should be.

I started as a funds manager about 10 yrs ago. It was boring and there was a glass ceiling for a YBM. Quickly left that alone.

Now I daytrade/intraday trade on good days I can make $1k on bad days I can lose $6k(due to how I trade and risk management).

It honestly has 0 barriers to entry, all you need is $10, a broker and a basic understanding of forex.

Beside forex, what other products do you trade with on a daily basis? Also, how was your experience in the IM field all together while being Black?

I only trade forex. I lost alot on stocks 1 weekend about 6 years ago (between close of market friday and open monday) due to a large marginal loan and since then i literally stopped touching em however i would do options starting this week as I saw another thread that peaked my interest. Otherwise i seen this binary thing everywhere but its not for me yet. So right now only FX.
