a poster already mentioned in this thread big was not authentic, mase is a p*ssy but thats not what his rhymes where about. cam is an a$$hole and shyne is a barbarian (all 3 can do what biggie can, especially mase and cam there multi's are influential to a true bar spitter)
biggie was a fraud and you could tell in his rhymes even before his mom exposed him but ..... like Jay, big's shallow raps are not consumer friendly without a banging beat and hook.
its like listening to Jay honestly i dont wish that dude all that well in life, not saying he should die but if he did from the character he is then worst things could happen nahmean, same for big they just werent nice people. also biggie is dope but his badboy hits are doper, the one more chance remix where he stopped the yelling was the start of dopeness and they had to force him to record 'juicy' the last song recorded for R2D.
which means without badboy, big wouldnt be much but a dope MC like them subway heads in the cyphers.

biggie is not for the hiphop consumer but the hiphop customer you know the difference, no way in hell would i be rocking jay or big on my old night shifts. but all my top ten you could play and feel optimistic and proud about yourself and life. real soulful lyricist making music with authentic feeling.with no diluted lyrics or craftmanship.

well your wrong, mixtapes ruined rap music and punchlines are for wack lloyd banks type rappers who havent got shyt to say because they are dull.

Its crazy for me cuz Biggie is in my top 10 based off a few songs lol..and i've been a real hiphop fan since the 80's

LAD is one of the most overrated rap albums ever, for obvious reasons.
RTD is a classic, but its not some all-timer.
I feel like he got the east coast boost cuz the east coast was desperate for solo star-power at the time. and then got the post-death boost right when LAD dropped. without those boosts influencing me, i'd probably rank him even lower.
in that 9-12 range.
