I kind of agree with this. I don't know about the boost though. Puff help mold Biggie and helped him have hits that were undeniable. I mean Nas and Wu were making quality music. He wasn't more lyrical than Nas (IMO), was grimy like Wu but was able to give you the gritty, lyricism, and make bangers. He was all around that's why NY rode with him. He was "overall" the best at the time.
biggie is not for the hiphop consumer but the hiphop customer you know the difference, no way in hell would i be rocking jay or big on my old night shifts. but all my top ten you could play and feel optimistic and proud about yourself and life. real soulful lyricist making music with authentic feeling.with no diluted lyrics or craftmanship.

please if you a true hiphop head then you been writing rhymes from young so its not easy to impress, .... mase is the multi template for rappers like fab.loon,ye,50 and none of them can do it as naturally and effortlesly as mase and cam, especially mase. so to say nursery bar thats actually what some of big's discreditors where saying not knowing bar crafting was getting more slicker and slicker.
as for shyne, he had the illest 50 cent diss from everybody and he recorded it from a jail phone. shyne been ill, god father buried alive and even his debut(all though thats not that great outside som major bangers) .... im not going to change your mind thats not the point, but i like my rappers authentic. biggie is dope but filled with holes, every rapper lies its called poetic license but big needed to re-apply or something because the exposals didnt stop.
i like big enough and thats just because his an incredible MC, but as man and his music. nahh only a few tracks here and there and before LAD he already said his quiting rap because he wants to make ceo ends and got a deal with un riveria and signed cam, his got no unreleased material. it was complacency and not in it for the love.

i work towards the music industry, also been reading the source for every month over a decade before the fall out and xxl/aftermath war.
