Question for the Accord fans in here. I'm in the market for a used car, and I spotted an 02 Accord for 3200. Shyt looks in largely pristine condition, seller says they've done regular maintenance, and have records of all procedures, basically nothing's wrong with it. However, it's got 255K miles on it :damn:

Now, from what I understand of Hondas, so long as you somewhat give a shyt about your car, it'll run damn near forever, but that mileage number (which the seller says is mostly highway miles) is fukkin astronomical, even for a Honda. This car is supposed to be a place-holder until I can stack up and really get what I want, but I plan on driving it until the wheels fall off so if it lasts longer then it lasts longer :manny:

Anyway, I kind of want to look into it. Thoughts? Advice? :lupe: or :whoa:

If you set on that honda then get it looked over by a mechanic and get a compression test, have them check for leaks. hondas hold their value so if you lookin for cars for that price with low 100k or under 100k you better off lookin somewhere else. Id pass on that honda since theres plenty of other ones with mid 100k for that price. my first car was a 99 buick regal that i picked up for 3.5k. shyt had 70k and was owned by this old lady who was the orginal owner. it was just like this http://goo.gl/3cd0vz. you got more options then you think

This thread is relevant to my interests....

I was in an accident with my 2011 Sonata a few weeks ago; got rear ended by this lil Mexican n1gga on the highway :scust:. Got totaled out (thank goodness for gap insurance :blessed:), now in the market for a lower cost whip. I was about to go out on Saturday and check out this 06 Lincoln LS Sport, but I'm doing more practical thinking lately, and I really think I'm gonna start checking for these 05-07 Accords. My mans got one and the n1gga basically co-signs what you brehs are speaking on, how crazy reliable they are.

Some of the ones I'm looking at locally:

I had a 99 Accord dead to rights but I couldn't scrounge up the cash before the breh sold it to someone else. :snoop:

Trying again with an 02 Accord. 140K miles ( :patrice: ) but asking 3K.

the hell do you live those are rent to own prices :mjlol:

You go with the options provided to you in a given scenario, breh. Doesn't seem that high of a price to me, though. Especially compared to what similar models with similar mileage figures are said to be worth.

Brehs. Be VERY careful with 02-07 Accords on the market, especially the V6s. The transmissions are no fukking good and bite the dust from 100k-140k.

Also if it isn't garage kept the paint is going to eat shyt (if it hasn't already).

Yea I hear all Honda v6 have Tranny issues, I was gonna buy a 04 or 05 cash, but ended up just getting a new Camry SE and using the Honda money as a down payment.

Can anyone elaborate on this?

Im looking at a 2013 Honda accord with a v6, but it DOESNT have CVT like the 4 cylinder does. I thought this was only an issue with the 08/09s?

@GinaThatAintNoGotDamnPuppy, what say you, I think youre somewhat of a gear head.

It was just an issue with the 02-07's (an overheating issue), that they fixed with the 08-12's (big issue with those is the excessive fuel consumption and brake wear). '13 body style is still really new, haven't heard anything bad about those yet.
