anyone scared to say they rap?

I know I'm not a MC but I write and produce a little. Haven't been to a studio yet.. but anyone feel embarrassed to say they do rap? Just what I see around I feel like its something I shouldn't say. Its stupid I really like to write music and all that. I like the art of it... I'm not trying to be a soulja boy rapper. But anyone feel like this at all

You probably will catch alot of hate from a lot of people saying: "Just man up" "Don't be a b!tch", blah, blah, blah, but I feel what you're saying. I think the only way to still do it and not feel the way you do is to just hit people off with a complete or semi-complete product. You gotta show them something, not just say it (then regardless of how people around you react, positive or negative, it won't matter cause you'll already have something to show for it, nahskidameany?)

Breh look at guys like Drake,Ludacris,Common,Kanye, Nas,The Dream has wrote hits for himself,Beyonce and many other people. Even tho he R&B he still a good writer. Don't let the stereo types get to you. Because they dint and their still successful

The only way to do it is try. I'm kind of in the same situation. Its kinda funny too, cause people in high school and early college used to know I rapped, but its been awhile since that. So now if asked I just say I write here and there, and then I figure once I create something worthwhile, people are gonna have to fukk with it whether they want to or not.

I can definately relate to this, It's like I feel corny if I tell people I write music on my off time because with all these nikkas out here doing it and I don't wanna look like a stereotype.


And the thing is I don't rap about none of that typical shyt, I write about my life, thoughts and society. I usually keep it to myself nowadays.
