STUDY
study study study

i cannot stress enough. i "studied" for about a month, bombed that shyt. the math was more on the side of trig and pre calculus, not algebra. the vocabulary, shyt i never seen, words i have never come across in my life and my vocabulary is not below average

people study months for that test. i know a girl who studied for at least a year. i didnt think it was a big deal because im a decent test taker, but that shyt hurt my feelings. and thats just a basic test, not to get into the specialized ones for things like business or medicine. thats just a basic ass test breh :dwillhuh:

if you dont study, its a big ass waste of money

i bombed that shyt so hard i actually looked into tutors. muse never have and dont use tutors for shyt, how much it hurt my soul

I took it a couple years ago. I'd recommend reading several articles a day from magazines like the Economist, Scientific American, The New Yorker and The Atlantic. If you do check out the author's Ta Nehisi Coates and Jelani Cobb. Definitely use ETS' practice exams to study -https://www.ets.org/gre/revised_general/prepare/powerprep2 - it is literally the same thing on exam day.

Most of the math that you will have to do is high school math so I'd recommend khan academy. Math is kind of hard because of time constraints, so even if you feel like you understand everything well practice a lot of problems so that you'll have a lot of experience going between the theory of what to do and practical application. Speed is important.

The verbal part is hard because there will be words you haven't seen before. I did well on the verbal section when I took it, and I'd recommend 3 things. 1) Make flashcards of obscure words and go through them everyday. 2) Read a lot 3) Practice using context clues to answer questions.

Good luck breh.

The math section is manageable. I thought I had it aced, but nope. Writing out the quadratic formula and finding an answer that way would only be wasting your time. The best thing you can do is perform speed drills when it comes to the math..

Like others have said take the test seriously. I suggest paying the $99 for https://gre.magoosh.com/ this is what I will be using next year once I can secure me a job after graduating in May.

Magoosh set a prep time for 3-a year depending on when you will be taking the GRE. Just look over the site and see others testimonials. The program really helps get your mind ready for the test and ability to soak in knowledge.

You need to brush up on your math skills because one question will require you to solve two equations then compare the answers to pick a final answer.

Brush up on algebra, geometry and stats.

which one is easier GMAT or GRE?

I'm going to undergrad in the USA but my parents want me to do graduate school in Canada. Do Canadian schools require entrance exams like there US counterparts ?
