You still can’t tell if Yasmin really loves Henry or not.
Come on now. Neither of them really love each other.

But that’s not the point.

She’s his partner and wanted/expected him to play his part while she plays hers, and she was willing to help him get back on track.

Does he love her?
He was quick to put Whitney’s opinion above hers and cheat with multiple women.
You think he loves her??

The point is she’s attractive and of the right social class (essentially right beneath his); she will do. And he’s a wealthy aristocrat who could literally sweep her off her feet and save her from her troubles: he will do.

That’s about the best arrangement one could have when uniting in a marriage of convenience.

I never felt like he loved her. But Yasmin crying on the phone when she had to end him felt genuine. Like she really tried and cared for him.

Of course; that’s her husband.

The title means something.

Of course she cares.

You don’t have to be madly in love to appreciate the union you have formed and want the best for the person you are with.

In a perfect world he would take his meds, have minor ups and downs and she would support him in that. Just as he’d be there for her in her silly delusions imagining she’s really doing shyt in his company.
They are both problematic people.

The issue is his problems can literally push him to suicide, and he won’t do the one thing that will help stabilize his mind— take the meds.
That combined with him being a wealthy aristocrat, he has never had to face accountability, could feed his indulgences and receive immediate expert care, all at a drop of a dime.

Spoiled little rich boy who actually has mental issues.

He’s been coddled his whole life.

Even his uncle is fulling involved in the family-owned publication.

Henry doesn’t have anything like that because he isn’t stable and hasn’t been forced to be stable.

Now, it is Yasmin’s fault he’s tied up in this so it’s rich that she’s acting blameless; I have to rewatch the last couple episodes because, although he wasn’t ready to jump ship the moment she said she had suspicions, I still don’t understand why she couldn’t get his uncle to help get him out of the mess as well.

I’m thinking she gave up after he relapsed.

Great points. In the last bit, it was clear to her that Henry was going to be left holding the bag. There would be no way for her to have a clean break if they did it together. I’d imagine this is her essentially leaving him altogether right?

I think she cried because she realized the gravity of her decision. Henry is a morally weak, narcissistic drug addict, who’s been coddled all his life and witnessed his fathers suicide…she may have accelerated his fate. Essentially, if he dies, he dies…

IDK, there's also a lot of, "Breh, shyt just hit the fan, you may be going to jail over this shyt, we about to lose everything and be all over the news, I’m trying to figure things out and you disappeared” shyt going on.

I cannot believe the finale is this weekend.

I’m tempted to be lame and watch the obligatory marathon all-day Sunday:snoop:

Maybe I’ll break it up and watch a couple episodes Friday and Saturday. I need to fully grasp everything that has happened before the finale.

After this wth does HBO have going on between now and HotD :scusthov:

Thought there was kind of a Sopranos nod in that last moment with Eric in Episode 6, as he walked into the Westchester suburbs in the twilight. There was a great Sopranos episode where Tony baited Janice into losing her temper at a family dinner, and then Tony walked out of the house. It's called Cold Cuts, I think. The camera also held the shot as he walked through the neighborhood for a few seconds, also like the end of Michael Clayton, in the taxi going up Fifth ave.

One of the best episodes of The Sopranos. Really showed how miserable Tony is and how hateful he can get towards those in his orbit trying to better themselves.

I think you are right, but funny shyt I watched that for the first time when I was 21, and as a viewer I was so enthralled with Tony, as the show runner wanted us to be, that I kinda thought he had a point at the end.

As a more sophisticated viewer, you can see that he is at no point sincere, he's smirking at the end of the scene, but I barely caught that when I was younger.
