Tech Jobs in california not hiring? :mjlol:
Define tech jobs, genius.

If you have CS degree recruiters are banging down your door. Anything else and no one is hiring unless you’ve already been doing the job for 3-5+ years.

And no, they aren’t hiring.

Are you applying to college grad positions?
I’ve applied to many.

And there isn’t such thing as a “college grad position” they are few and far in between.

The way things are set up most of those positions are meant for people to apply to either in their sophomore or junior years of college.

There is a such thing and they typically accept applications up until 12 months post graduation. The elephant in the room, is your resume up to standard? Have you shown it to others for feedback? Does it show that you were more than just another warm body?

I’ve gotten feedback from career councilors and they said it was good.

I also reference the Columbia University resume handbook for my resume/CV structure.

Ok, but from people closer to the industry? The bulk of college resumes are complete garbage. There's no 2 ways around it. People at the career center don't do a good job at giving effective feedback on resumes. I've lived that life, they were no help.

You have plenty of career paths. But IT is huge, you have to figure out what you want to do. I don’t know how things are for new grads but I just switched companies and had 3 offers. However, I’m older so I have a lot of experience.

You also need to structure your resume properly. Find an area where you can list all the shyt you know....put that near her top of your resume. Then list the shyt you’ve done and quantify how that helped the company. You can bullshyt on that but the point I’d you have to show what makes you valuable to the company.

there are some good resume writing resources online. Speak with a tech head hunter. You can also reach out to them on LinkedIn. Find people at tech companies with the role you want and look at their path. Look at their education and roles they’ve had. Look at where you want to be and research what you need to do to get there. Look for people who look just like you...brehs have a bit of a different path in this gotdamn world.

Anyways, don’t get stuck in tech support making weak money. Learn and move up

In any job nowadays, if you don't have job experience, you better have an internship, and portfolio you can show and talk about. Otherwise, you're going into the recycling bin.

IT is like the nerdy version of the movie "Paid in Full". You got to have the hustle for it and make sure you are not getting fukked by the industry because they are looking for naive nerds to lowball. As somebody who got dikked numerous times to the point where I don't want nothing to do with it...here's some game:

  • Never say open to a salary
  • Make sure the company has a sense of growth
  • Know your worth
  • Never give away game for free (family and friends asking you to fix their shyt because relatives)
  • Build up your brand with places like Best Buy and etc
  • Non profit organizations will fukk you for your knowledge, you get in and get out
Besides all of that, it is a rewarding experience but make sure companies know you are the shyt and not the other way around:ufdup:

Breh you better photoshop the certs you need or any ones you don’t have but know enough to speak on like you do. That’s the first step. The second step is to fake experience in your resume. If they can’t verify it the gonna ask you to provide proof. Photoshop your offer letter or W2s. So to sum up, if you want a decent paying job, you better lie. If your scared to lie, then fine, do it the hard way
