This. Read through these stickies and make a thread in 6 certs forum. To answer your question, yes you can make money but it's going to be a grind. If you don't actually like the field, you'll be in for some tough times as it can be very stressful to deal with.

Breh you better photoshop the certs you need or any ones you don’t have but know enough to speak on like you do. That’s the first step. The second step is to fake experience in your resume. If they can’t verify it the gonna ask you to provide proof. Photoshop your offer letter or W2s. So to sum up, if you want a decent paying job, you better lie. If your scared to lie, then fine, do it the hard way

don’t lie. Embellish, but don’t lie.

you better be a top level liar because you will get caught if you say you know how to do something and turns out you don’t. Like, don’t say you know Java when you’ve never done any programming in your life. You will not last long.

Want to embellish or lie about your length of experience about something you actually know....go ahead.

Devs will laugh you out he room if you don’t know shyt. Maybe you can fake the funk in less technical roles....maybe.

Gotta start at the bottom if you don’t have any experience. Just don’t stay there long. Get involved in as much shot as you can, build your resume and get out.

Exactly. Maybe the less technical positions you can do that but for the real technical positions you will be called out immediately. Unless the people interviewing you don't know anything about the position.

Define tech jobs, genius.

If you have CS degree recruiters are banging down your door. Anything else and no one is hiring unless you’ve already been doing the job for 3-5+ years.

And no, they aren’t hiring.

There's so many tech positions that I could spend all day listing them all. Point is, if the jobs in your area aint hiring then venture out the city to get the jobs you want. They're out there, but it's on you to get it.

I am. You can learn a great deal on your own honestly. At that point it’s just about an organization giving you the opportunity. But once you’re in, YOURE IN! You learn so much, so quickly. Just keep your hustle on and don’t say no even if you don’t know something. Just say “I’ll figure it out”. Then figure it out. Want something more future proof, with good return? Get into cloud engineering. Azure or AWS. But First learn the basics. Get windows 10 pro, enable hyper-v. Get some ISO’s and spin up VM’s. Learn AD, Basic group policy shyt, how to navigate around dns & dhcp then go from there. Its a good career to be in, most of the time. depending on your level there can be a great deal of stress a few times of year.

Breh I'm only helpdesk level which is at the bottom and touching just under 50k per year, it's a great career path because there's so many variations to it that all pay well in the 50k to 100k range, or even more

Experience is the key to moving up and once you get it, it unlocks a new level for you. Getting your foot in the door is the hardest thing.

What specialty are you looking to pursue after?
