The NY Post is being misleading here. She was asked two questions: one was about media literacy and the other was about a truth and reconciliation commission for restorative justice/healing as a nation.

I think a "news organization" should be required to disclose it's sources publicly or it will be label as unsourced/made up news.

That's not a good idea. Sometimes sources need to maintain anonymity for a myriad of reasons from their own safety to them being able to keep being a source.

What a lot of people don't get about anonymous sourcing is that a good and ethical journalist doesn't just take the info an anonymous source gives them and runs with it as factual. Once you have an anonymous source then the journalist must do the leg work to prove that what the anonymous source told them is indeed truthful. If the journalist can't do that then the story shouldn't be run.
That is where journalistic ethics come into play.

I do believe the media should have some standards they are held to that prohibits them from blatantly spreading false information, but that is an extremely slippery slope.

Today, it will be regulating hard right conservatives rhetoric eventually when the Republicans regain power (hopefully no time soon) it will be them trying to regulate more progressive rhetoric.

I say let those cacs have their Fox News and a few other platforms that cater to them, eventually the Republicans will be faced with a choice do they keep pushing the party further to the right with those hillbillies, rednecks, blatant racism, conspiracy theories, and rhetoric that's not substantiated by facts or does the establishment Republicans reign it in and try to go back to the George Bush and Mitt Romney type Republicans that talked about supply side economics, tax breaks for businesses, and were less heavy on the rhetoric about socialism, discrediting the media, and dog whistling racism.

AOC is radical and that's really why Pelosi and Schumer and them don't really fool with her. What she suggested with this isn't legal though. I fool with AOC on most issues even though I don't believe those Hispanics she represents are a friend to Black folks either. She is way to progressive to be accepted throughout America right now. 20-30 years from now someone like her if not her will come along and wreck shop on American politics but right now she's a little ahead of her time.

People think journalism is what they see on TV, a more reasonable plan Imo would be a time limitation like the public domain, so we could retroactively see who was full of shyt without affecting current investigations.
