that one is weird because they don't even represent different parts of the city like the basketball, baseball and hockey (in their case long island) teams. I always call them the New Jersey Jets because I never understood why anyone in the city would root for them. They didn't even have any iconic players in the modern era. At least with the Mets that '86 team had legends like Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden so people from that era would root for those players instead of the Yankees. I can't think of any Jets with a name while the Giants went from LT to Strahan to Eli/Odell so they always had stars.
