why would ANY new yorker willingly choose the jets???? it's not like any of ya'll grew up in the joe namath era. ya'll grew up watching vinny testaverde, chad pennington, and mark sanchez

that one is weird because they don't even represent different parts of the city like the basketball, baseball and hockey (in their case long island) teams. "hey, we're NYC teams who play in the meadowlands, pick one."

it seems like with a city/metro area as big as NYC you'll have enough contrarians who wants to go against what's popular and masochists to get a dedicated fanbase.

I always call them the New Jersey Jets because I never understood why anyone in the city would root for them. They didn't even have any iconic players in the modern era. At least with the Mets that '86 team had legends like Darryl Strawberry and Doc Gooden so people from that era would root for those players instead of the Yankees. I can't think of any Jets with a name while the Giants went from LT to Strahan to Eli/Odell so they always had stars.

My nephew is a Niners fan and I made sure of it (well his parents did but I made sure he didn't get hooked onto the Jets, so those games are never aired around him)

He's 7 and he plays pee-wee football. He told me the other day "I bet my team can beat the Jets" and all I could say was "yeah."

When you stop caring about them, your quality of life actually improves. I take my mom out to Sunday lunch on Arthur Ave. I take advantage of the parks NYC has to offer. Fantasy football is the only thing that stresses me out (that and work)
I internally called you a bytch when you came out and ended your Jet fandom. :birdman:

Now I need you to teach me your ways. :mjcry:

I have a lot of friends who are Jets fans.

I feel bad because I'm a Giants fan and I've been lucky.

Hang in there, y'all will get yours soon.

Even the Red Sox have had a dynasty in our lifetime.

The jets never even had a star player at the commonly star positions. Correct me if im wrong.

But Curtis martin was the only one worth mentioning for a while.

Im a born and raised new yorker and i didnt even know of the jets until i was like 13. I thought nyc only had the giants.
Testeverde was a pro bowler

After living through the worse possible QB tandems of all time (Brodie Croyle/Tyler Thigpen) I tell everyone to keep the faith :blessed:

It’ll turn around sooner or later.
