It made perfect sense, just probably not when you were a kid. It works just like the mcu/dcu multiverse with a different name. The memory loss came from overliance on “summons”.

These characters had just started using GFs and didn't remember each other.

The time compression story where that witch from the future wants to compress time to become the only living entity was retarded and made no sense.

And especially the love story between squall and Seifer's side bytch is embarrassingly cringe. And that was the focus of the entire story.


The storyline falls apart after the failed assassination attempt, and this isn't just my childhood memory, I actually liked it more as a kid when i didn't care about storylines. I replayed the remaster and realized how bad it was compared to the other games in the series.

Most of the game squall is an a$$hole to that girl because he likes her but she's fukking the person he hates the most.

Its actually embarrassing playing this shyt as an adult because the main character comes across as an incel who views Seifer as the "Chad" fukking the girl he wants.



My main issue with the junction system is that it discouraged magic use, because you'd have the most powerful magic junctioned to a character, and using magic comes with a stat penalty. Plus it wasn't fun junctioning magic from enemies, which further discouraged the use of magic.

Just gotta say it, FF9 is my favorite game ever. First game I truly beat legit without stealing an older neighbors save, or using/duping rare candies lol. Huge moment in my childhood, and honestly the game still stands today. Characters, story, music are all masterclass. Classic in the truest sense. If/when this gets announced it’ll be an instant preorder. Don’t have any expectations, just want to see this game with a different take, in any capacity.

i dont think incel means what you think it means. brooding ass squall is standoffish to everyone. from rinoa to zell. so unless hes attracted to zell that doesnt apply to him. emo is a better fit.

the game is about him opening up to everyone in the party. so singling out rinoa is shortsighted when he acts that way to everyone.
