Why does every fukkin single piece of entertainment today gotta be put through the fake woke microscope? I can't wait for this trend to die.
You should be asking yourself why every piece of commentary on entertainment ends up in here.

It’s definitely to enflamme an already agitated base...

there had to be a least a million tweets today. Somehow, the killmonger/toxic masculinity one made the front page. Here.

He wasn't? He acted like he loved a chick then killed her. :mjlol: Nikka was a whole scumbag and you got black people acting like he was Malcolm X when that nikka was more like Umar Johnson scamming behind :russ:
are you stupid he probably did love her. But she knew the risk and when she was being held she shook her head like go ahead and kill me.

Y'all nikkas shouldn't take shyt out of context. She was live tweeting the movie and praising the shyt out of it, and pointed out what made Killmonger a VILLAIN since his character had so many damn apologists. But people took it as her slandering the movie

Ryan Coogler on the audio commentary literally says "Killmonger is very equal opportunistic, whoever is in his way is catching the wrath of his violence. He doesn't care who it is. That's how he's trained. That's how he works."

He said this during the scene where Killmonger yokes up the elder woman.

He didnt kill her she sacrificed her life so shouldnt gey be used as a hostage and a soldier first

I mean killmonger had every right to spaz on the woman In the training room he was the king and she wasnt doing what he asked

^^^ This right here is the issue. Coogler wrote a villain/anti hero character. Instead of seeing Killmonger’s abuse & coldness towards women (and men) as evidence of his villainous nature, you see it as said people sacrificing themselves? That makes no sense.

So in a way, she's saying "How can I trust HIM to strive black people for the greater good, if he treats women/black women like shyt?"
This WOULD had been a good point, however, throughout the movie, he has treated EVERYBODY (Male/Female, Black/White) like shyt if one steps in his way. If he sees no use for you or trying to foil his plans, he'll treat you like dirt. Villains like Killmonger, Thanos, The Vulture had good points, but their solutions were selfish and too drastic to solve problems. They really shouldn't be put on a mantle as "good" anyways, even if they had good intentions.

^^^ Exactly. You stated this way better than I did.

Knew this was coming lmao. People root for villains all the time...doesn't mean they cosign everything, namely the bad shyt. I haven't seen Black Panther (only Marvel film I've seen is the first Iron Man lmao) but from I've read/heard, it's not hard to see why people identify with a lot of aspects of Killmonger. Yet even those people don't cosign everything he did, namely whatever his "bad guy plan to kill people/change the world" was.

People identify with Tony Montana lmao. Not him selling drugs to the community...but him coming from nothing, dealing police fukkery, and becoming something. That's a normal reaction to media. I doubt anyone who likes Killmonger likes him because he allegedly treated women like shyt lmao.

Back to READING though...I remember when I first read Huck Finn as a kid. The main character is a POS outright racist...yet by the end of the book you not only appreciate him, you realize his attitudes and views on race are evolving. I could have simply said "wow this book is about a racist, it's problematic" and threw it in the trash after 10 pages. And missed the entire point of the novel. If you consume art to determine whether the characters agree with you, you lawst. Some of the best novels I've read, from Huck Finn to Blood Meridian, feature some truly loathsome characters.

I haven’t seen all the marvel movies either, haven’t even seen the last avengers movie. They seem like really well made but standard superhero stuff. Heroes vs villains.

killmonger is a lot like magneto, they have a wide range you can write them as. Totally self interested that hide behind their worthy cause or radically militant freedom fighters. Or somewhere in between.

edit: props for the blood meridian reference :wow:

Just for arguments sake: @Killmonger was never the rightful king cause his dumb ass never killed T'Challa. I beat you up isn't a Death match.
Once Zuri's bytch ass helped T'Challa during the fight T'Challa lost IMO. :yeshrug: And T'challa needed to be revived with other people's help. :gucci: nikka got washed.

Some stupidity is learned.

No kid would watch lion king and question why Scar boxed Sarabi. What stands out is him throwing Mufasa off the cliff. After that, his actions are what you would expect from an a$$hole.

u got the story twisted

TChalla brought in the sketchy peckerwood

Killmonger brought the body of the person who killed his uncle ..who was also T'challas dad..

Same uncle who killed his father ..

He should of killed T'challa ..hell prolly thought he did..dropping him off the cliff.. he didnt know the terrain

Without the herb he mopped his ass tho ..

Wakanda had 2 peckerwoods amongst them that they saved

Yet T'chaka and Zuri was gonna die with the secret of how N'jobu died ..n the fact he had a son

Hell 9times outta 10 I bet N'Jobu was the black sheep of the family when he went to Oakland and fell in love with killmonger mom..he was denounced then

Yet they kept zuri keeping tabs like some hoes

Wakanda as a nation was some hoes

Saving peckerwoods but wouldn't save their own..not other black ppl..but somebody with the bloodline
Nah, you got it twisted. :russ:
I wasn't at all referring to Killmonger, Klaw or Panther about the sketchy white guy part.
-I was referring to Wakanda as a whole helping on the low & not getting too deep with nations that fukked with the colonizers. Your response literally had nothing to do with what I said.

Panther didn't die or yield, Killmonger assuming he died doesn't make him king. The Dora didn't commit treason, he wasn't technically the king.
