Anyone with some sense knew this was a venture that should not have been attempted. Those recorded calls are a bad look as well. Seems to be a terrible person, but not surprising.

Could have did pop up shops to establish interest or gauge it. Could have specialized in durags with other head wear or accessories for sale as well. All she did was give up major sums of money for exuberant rent chasing clout hence not being able to pay people. All front no substance.

I know someone exactly like this and Canada is very giving if you can't write a grant letter to get funds you can pitch a business model and get off the ground but you have to self sustain.

Knew a few girls that were in the hustle of living off grants doing social initiatives. At some point they got a workspace all funded by grants and they tried to turn it into a studio to do random classes and sell shyt. They had all the push through to get the space but not the business to sustain it. They really though people would just pay them to be fly and take hipster ass classes from unskilled instructors (random art and craft courses). The business pretty much imploded within no time despite a lot of them being influencers. They had no ideas what they were actually trying to do. Their branding was confusing their purpose was not clear. Few months in they had become a space for hawking second hand clothes like a Facebook marketplace warehouse.
