Apparently Yasiin Bey showed up 1.5 hours late to show in London, told the fans "you've got other options"

It's funny how it's always these conscious, "kick knowledge," holier-than-thou ass nikkas that turn out to be unprofessional scumbags that treat their fans like shıt. :francis:

Then again, in a profound way it makes hella-sense. :francis:

Why though? Why anticipate certain dispositions and characteristics based off of branding and astethics?

Being so called "conscious" (which no one can even define) somehow gets coupled with an expectation of professionalism and courteousness off gp? seriously, why? Earnest question

Thats a very green worldview that i havent heard a sound justification for

This right here.

95% of them are frauds. Wild talented and musically-inclined, but mad unprofessional and self-centered. The headwrap "neo-soul" artists were seriously the sh*ttiest people Hip Hop and R&B had. They really don’t give a sh*t about their fans or the people who boosted them to success. Buncha entitled weirdos who never changed and have limited catalogues that they swear will always keep them in motion.

This is why all of them can't get sh*t going for themselves today. The people are sick of them.

You think a lot of them never expected to get that famous, and once they did, they milked it for all it was worth and thought they had a free ride to do whatever they wanted? I could also imagine some of these artists wanted to make music on their own time and not have to deal with the business side of the industry. It's why Lauryn Hill only has one album.

The only explanation I have is that these artists are legitimately rich and smart with their money, so they don't need to work anymore. If I had tax problems or I'm struggling to put food on the table, why would I show up late and insult my fans? You only do that when you have "fukk you" money.

Yeah, and bro didn't want to pay child support for them.

He had multiple cases against him because of it. That's why they wouldn't allow him entry back into the country. He fled the US to avoid paying the child support and then tried to come back and was denied because he didn't pay the child support.

Once I found out he married a stripper after knowing her for three days, I knew he was doomed :mjlol:

this is just another part of the "true artiste" shtick of his that he takes deadly serious.

left New York for Paris but lives in a little house in France outside of Paris, dresses like a Romanian gypsy woman but still somewhat chic, sex workers are his muses, has a plenty of kids and is estranged from them, doesn't like performing his old work, makes art but doesn't release it, gets paid but does none of the obligations he signed up for and now this curmudgeonly shyt

I love him

if it wasn't for Rick Owens and Michelle Lamy you'd barely see him

I would expect a level of dishonesty and deception from a rapper that brags about shooting and robbing people, over the guy that made Umi Says lol

It's definitely an assumption and a generalization, but it's funny to see these "knowledge of self" types do shady business, show up late or not at all, not release the music, screw their fans etc

All those people got what they deserved same as the people who keep paying to see Lauryn Hill.

How dumb and fanatical are you that you'd pay money to see them perform when they have a history of having zero regard for people's time?

Let them stop getting booked and they'll get the message.

One of the biggest fall offs I've seen in Hip Hop yeah.

Black on both sides is in the same category as albums like Illmatic. I also enjoyed that Black Star project even though I can't listen to Talib Kweli for multiple songs in a row, lol.

But after that? Yeah....Ecstatic was a good album but that's it.

He's a weirdo and fans should stop living in a fantasy world. He does not give a shyt about the fans.

I've been to one of his shows back when "black on both sides" came out. He was very unserious even back then. he was literally standing, joking, humming and shyt. I think he only performed one full verse. zero effort.

the sad thing is all the rappers opening for him were killing it while the crowd was chanting "we want mos def".

its ironic how the so-called hiphop purists praised him but trashed DMX back then.
