faster translation with processing on device/less places the data needs to jump. and translation in ear allows for more natural conversations with the things such as the customer service use case

They showed the other person who doesn't speak your language has to have the phone show them what you're saying so half the conversation is you hearing their translation in your earbuds and the other half is them hearing you through a phone on speaker. Seems like the whole thing could go back and forth just on the phone.
