Fake outrage. We're ALL guilty of the situation in Congo. If you have a smartphone, or a computer, you're contributing to the child labor and destabilization of this region.

We're quick to point fingers but no selling without demand.

This is the excuse people always bring up and the answer is no.

They're not going to sell their products at a price people cannot afford. What would diminish is the wealth gap. They'd still enjoy a good profit, just not the kind of profit that has skipped employees earning peanuts in comparison to the top directors.

Oh y’all didn’t know the cellphones and laptops and tech that y’all use to access this very site are all products of African and Asian slave labor?

That’s the only reason you guys are even able to afford smartphones.

Nobody really cares, not enough to boycott the tech companies.

But headlines like this make it easy for people to point at the tech companies as the villains while ignoring the fact they’re also benefactors of slavery.
