It's not too bad, though I do wish it was more upgradable. Hopefully this is the nail in the coffin for chromebooks. Otherwise, idk what do you brehs expect. If you told me a year ago you could get a brand new macbook for the cost of 2 sticks of RAM I'd have said you were crazy

Chromebooks will never go away. It's cheap and built to get damaged. How are kids gonna take care of this shyt without breaking it? Don't gotta worry about that with chromebooks.

You’re proving my point. Plastic Chromebooks are much easier to break than an aluminum MacBook and they’ll end up costing the same. Why have an IT department deal with pallets broken plastic when they could be dealing with real issues?

A18 6 core processor

Might be decent for students, but otherwise gone get the 13' macbook air for 550 extra bucks

Chromebooks ain't going anywhere, unless apple is offering free MDM on top of that for educational/non-profit industries like google does.

Dud on this forum don’t realize that 90% of computer owners are not tech enthusiasts like us. This is going to be a smash hit with college students, high schools, budget buyers, and people obsessed with branding. People don’t care about specs, they care about the logo. Everyone wants the Apple logo on their device when they’re at Starbucks. This is gonna crush it in China too.

600 for a mac, smash hit for sure. im in the market for a mbp myself but they need to get current with the touch screen first

schools can pivot off the chromebooks right to this given the price is comparable at $500.

the county where UGA is located here in Georgia just paid 1.42 million for 3000 chromebooks. Right under 500 per with all of the software and security on them.

The ones we have in Fayette county are old at this point (county paid 5.5 million for 9000 of em back in 2021), but that's a little over 600 per chromebook.

Apple has a chance to make a dent in that area, but they need to get all the software used on the chromebooks at a good price first.
