They don’t.

But looking at the pic above of a USB-C connector, it seems to allay my orientation concerns. As long as there are no durability concerns (which I think Apple was arguing) then have no problem with standardizing around that connector. :ehh:

Tho I think having the connector be male rather than female makes sense cuz with a female connector you force the device to have a hole with a male member sticking up... that’s gotta be less durable than just a hole.
Have a tranny connector, Android brehs

this has been discussed for years. I remember they said this about 10 years ago. you are not going to MAKE Apple give up their proprietary designs.

for what its worth, I do use the lightning connector a lot in the car still, although convenient, its not a necessity anymore because in the house I only use wireless charging and for my headphones I prefer lightning but can use BT. and I agree with @R.E.N. Spells Ren that durability should be the main concern. I dont have a problem with Apple keeping their design, when you start letting it go universal, everyone will be making it then using with wrong voltage, etc, fukkin phones up and shyt.

As mentioned in the article, this made sense back when there were 30 different connectors. Now that there’s just 3, I don’t see the point of this.

objectively speaking, there are advantages to the lightning connector, namely the ease of insertion. Those micro usb connectors are orientation specific which can be annoying.

Really nikka? LOL. That's all you can come up with?
This nikka said ease of insertion (pause). smh

He’s right. I got a Galaxy Fold, which is the only non-Lightning device I use, and every time I charge it I have to be extra careful not to put it in at an awkward angle or too hard, so as to not break the connector inside. That “MFi” certification Apple gives third party Lightning connectors is specifically to maintain a high standard of peripherals. And yes, it’s much easier to insert than USB C (pause, of course)

now that I disagree w/...it’s harder to find the hole using a lightning adapter than USB-C for me (these sexual innuendos have to stop lmao)...also the USB-C wires are more durable than the lightning cables from my experience...them shyts ALWAYS get fukked up on the lightning end and I’m a person that takes extreme care/caution especially w/ my electronics

All the other OEMs have switched to USB-C over the years while Apple has continued to use their own in house proprietary lightening connector.

I'll believe this happens when I actually see it though. I'm not an Apple user, but I follow tech and they've been talking about doing this for years and it hadnt happened yet.

Bruh, Apple is not your friend. fukk these tech companies especially Apple raping Africa for cobalt but you care looking for their pockets.

I hope they make it only one universal usb for all products so I can charge my phone and face razor with the same cord
Neither anyone you mentioned is my friend

well even if it passes they would give them time to adapt. there's a reason the 2021 phone will be portless.
