44 bricks...acre shaker
I remember going to an instore in Decatur the Tuesday night of the album's release. The crowd was wrapped around the block. Hundreds of people bumping the album out of their cars in the parking lot. :wow:

When I finally got to the front of the line, they were playing the album in the store and I clearly remember Dre was rapping Khujo's verse on Y'all scared while they were signing my album booklet. I was so damn nervous in front of them, I didn't say a word. Good times man.

:mjlol:
I met em when they did their run in dallas with skip cheetham...

I still remember George Clinton lap dance while ya laptop is in ya lap line

Both them fools hit the synthesize-zerrrrrrrrruhhhh

U can tell them fools enjoyed makin that album

We supported the hell out of D.F in the city. I had a similar experience when I went to a Lennox Mall in store for Goodie Mob's Still Standing album release.

Word!
That's what's up.
How much has Atlanta changed since those days?
With so many people moving down there, I'm sure it's changed quite a bit since the late 90's let alone 90's, period.

It's definitely more artificial now. We went from being a small southern city vying for acceptance in Hip-Hop to being the epicenter of the industry.

The whole black Hollywood shyt is a blessing and a curse. It allows more people to eat, but it comes with a lot of fake Hollywood shyt.

Spottieottiedopaliscious. Man the Pictures Andre and Big Boi painted in that song. I bet Atlanta was a cool place to be back in the day. Atlanta's rap scene now, outside of Jeezy and Big boi is basura, just beyond trash

Wow, yeah.
I think you summed it up perfectly.

It's interesting that Chonkyfire is the last song on the album and it ventures off into Rock with the guitar and shyt
Then Stankonia kind of picks up from that right at the start of the album with Gasoline Dreams.

If you notice the 1st 4 albums the last song was always an indication of what was up next

D.E.E P. (Southernplayalistic) more social content.....leading to ATLiens
Growing Old (ATLiens) more soulful/spiritual....leading to Aquemini
Chonkyfire (Aquemini) rock flavor....setting the stage for Stankonia
StankLove (Stankonia)....to me this represent a stand still as the last part is screwed representing slow down....on that album you noticed the difference between Big & Dre....this imo is like the closure of them as a team as the next album were solo and then the soundtrack

I honestly feel if it wasn't for Lauryn Hill they would've gotten album of the year at the Source Awards
