NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
True true lol I' just saying if that's all he listened to growing up, and copped their mixtapes, had all their unreleased music, etc.. like their stuff could be considered classics in Philly. I'm not from there, so I can't say.

There's rappers from all over that I never heard of, or know little about, that is the GOAT to someone. I actually like when people's best ever or favorites are not the norms, it means they probably base it off completely what they listen to and like the most, and that's it. I respect it.

The other day I saw GullyTV say Half-A-Mill is the greatest rapper of all-time. I love Half but he's not even top 50 all-time because of his lack of catalog, but that's me. People's criteria might be different
I guess cause im a nikka who can decipher between my favorites and the greatest. Cause even with me. If a know an album aint a consensus classic I will call it a personal classic. Same way I have a non biased top 10 list and a MY Top 10 list. Lol

Nah I completely get it bro and that’s how I personally do my list, I factor in things outside of my personal preference but I understand when people don’t. I respect it because it gives different perspectives. I like seeing top list without the usual suspects sometimes even if I disagree

Yeah cause mf has longevity and multiple albums to at least gauge their impact right? :mjlol:

for the record, I don't rank either group remotely that high. but if youre someone that allows one in the mix, you cant shut the door on the others.

UGK had ONE hit record in 15 years. and the only reason it got airplay on most of the outlets it did, was because of outkast.
they have no hits on their own merit, while the figgas have one(technically two) while only dropping one album on a lukewarm label while being blackballed.

UGK impact was mostly regional.

its an apples & oranges while still being a same chit/different toilet comparison.

UGK has a bigger cultural draw than Major Figgas my guy. And some charting albums and music to boot. But I feel u.

what cultural draw is that? outside of the media pushing their legacy heavy for the past 10-12 years after the fact, I don't see it.

they had a regional draw in a region where people went out & bought albums.

theres regional groups that had more national impact & hits than UGK. only difference is, theres not a legion of rappers/industry outlets pushing their legacies.

and I lived in the south. I understand the importance of a UGK. but like I said in the previous, its the same game, just on a different field with different game settings.

:patrice:Man...I'm torn by this argument, but I remember when Major Figgas was just starting out, the shyt was organic. I was at the corner store getting a hoagie and this dude was spitting a rap out loud. Dude asked me if I heard of Major Figgas and I was like nah. He kept mouthing the freestyle. Next thing I know within months, that same group was doing a video shoot on the block since I lived next door to Ab Liva and it was a wrap:wow:. On a underground level, them dudes were beasts, but come on breh....one album and one dope single:francis:. Wish they would have blown up though along with countless Philly acts. We should have been the Motown of this shyt like 70s Philly International, but what can you do:yeshrug:?

Bro u not gonna get me to argue UGK vs some fukkin Major Figgas bro. Lol. It just aint gonna happen. It makes zero sense. And its not even like I consider UGK a top 5 group or anything. So that aint a argument to have wit me. Regardless of how much u think they get propped up. UGK >>>> Major Figgas as far as cultural presence. Its not even an argument bro. We talkin bout Major Figgas here. Whatever UGK did. Major Figgas did LESS.
