If you started a game last year but finished it this year yes it counts. Figure it'll give good reason to go back into people's back logs and finish off titles.
And no,you need to provide your steam id/gamer tag/psn so it can be verified/and/or screenshot video proof.
I'm gonna update the OP and keep a scoreboard on the first post with a running tally of everyone's progress so just let me know what you've beaten.
