Arcadium Challenge 2018: How Many Games Can You Beat In 2018? Prizes And Rules Inside

I'm willing to give this shyt a go, but I got to ax' a few questions.

- How old can the game be? Like real talk, I got TONS of Ps2/Xbox/Xbox360/Gamecube games I never beat that I'd honestly run through for the sake of this competition.

- For the games that don't got trackers/achievements (Ps2/Dreamcast/Xbox) what do I got to do to prove that I beat it short of just letting the credits roll and taking a screenshot?

- Would beating short ass games like say, Star Fox 64 count?

Even though I prolly got the volume to run with the likes of @Ciggavelli and what's not, I don't want the goal posts moved if I start crushing shyt and everyone going "This nikka just re-upped all his dusty ass save files and fought the last boss and looked to claim shyt."

like for real. PC gamers can use a script and get "game completion" trophies like...bam, gimme that shyt.... Really, this should be a console competition only. If it isn't, there's no telling if the PC gamers are cheating or not.

We really don't have many pc gamers here though let's be honest. And I don't want to exclude people.

And in part there's no way to really see if anybody cheating for sure I guess so no system will be perfect and there's an honor factor for sure impossible to get around.

If people are that pathetic to cheat on a friendly competition over not even significant amount of money that's pretty

Besides this idea was more about trying to get more gaming discussion and building the community up then the prizes for me.


I picture in future years other people being comfortable enough to contribute prizes and such to keep this going. But we will see how this goes.

I'm not sure. Id like to say older games are welcome but I think that would definitely be easy to fake and cheat.

I'll have to think about it.

Daze rocks a 980ti, and he seems to be doing well with his shyt. I think this would be a good "starter card." But that shyt is too outdated for me though. It's a throwaway card

Well since @Ciggavelli is donating a prize I don't think it's fair for me to bogart the rules completely.


So I'll toss a couple ideas out and others can chime in thoughts or feelings.


- Should we remove the minimum amount of games beaten rule?

- should we use an all encompassing points system. It can be convoluted but for example we could assign value to different things.


Say a game is 0-5 hours you get 1 point,5-10 2 points etc. Also assign points to different difficulty settings?


Just some ideas. I'm fine leaving it as is but I thought I'd at least see how others feel now that it isn't just me putting up a prize

With all due respect, I gotta disagree. You can quantify shyt, if you want. I, personally, think those that beat games on "hard" should be given a little extra credit. But really, you're right, it's not that big of a deal. I'm cool with whatever. I like quantifying shyt though (I do it for a living....so....)

Well I mean is it really fair for a game that takes 50 hours to beat to be given the same weight as a 1 hour game? Not at all.


As long as we can agree on something I'm fine with it.
