Texas logistics and city planning are fukking awful...everything is 30 minutes on the highway from everything else...dallas is one of my least favorite cities ever

The AAC is right downtown in Victory Park on the green/red line and TRE trains. You could walk from Uptown or the West End. The Cotton Bowl is in Fair Park on the Green Line about a mile from downtown. Easy train or bus ride. Everything else is so far because every suburb out here fights for every damn thing. Cowboys Stadium was supposed to be built just south of the Mixmaster downtown, but Arlington swooped in with a private meeting at literally the last second before the deadline to go for a vote in Dallas came. The Rangers were talking with Dallas before Rangers Ballpark was built, but their longtime Mayor Vangdergriff made a stadium deal last minute with the Bushes(W used to own them). Frisco up north took FC Dallas. All these little burbs got their own arenas and convention centers and are constantly poaching business from Dallas. Its got nothing to do with city planning. More about the tax structure and business attitude here. Everyone wants a deal at maximum profit with no thought of convenience or long term consequences because is a ton of cheap land in all directions. Hell, just this week, the Cowboys announced they are moving their practice facility 30 minutes further away than they already are from Dallas. shyt is out of control.

Texas pretty much sucks at building cities. They're good at building suburbs though. But with Dallas, you have suburbs pretending they can be like the city they leach off of. Nobody gives a damn about Frisco, Arlington, Irving, w/e if it wasn't for Dallas.

It's strange cause Baltimore did everything right, M&T and Camden are right by each other. Fed Ex is all the way in Landover MD, and a decent fukking walk from the last stop on the metro closest to landover.

Verizon has a great location, only if we were better :snoop: With so many fans in DC and VA, the old RFK was probably a much better location but the stadium was :ehh: on a good day

It's crazy, because even the area (we definitely need a new one) is even located right down the street from Camden Yards.

:salute: why'd you move breh?

Had to move back East for family reasons.

I stayed in Chula Vista (right down the street from that Black Angus near the trolley station) and La Mesa (right up the street from what used to be a Big Bear Supermarket)...had the butter view of Mount Helix from my balcony. :takedat: (I had said it was Mt. Soledad to someone else on here before, but I was wrong....though I HAVE been to Mt. Soledad).

Seriously, there's no place better. Best weather BAR NONE, first of all....gorgeous women....TOP-quality trees...beautiful, CLEAN beaches (wasn't nothin' like Mission Beach on a weekend night, SMH)....quick access to L.A..... :ahh:

Went out to Cincy and Pittsburgh last year....both stadiums and the locale and atmosphere around the stadiums were better than anywhere I have been before.

Oh yeah. Cincy and Pitt are very similar when it comes to supporting their teams.

Never been to a pirates game. Been to a Penguins game in Pittsburg and the atmosphere was lovely.

Those type of towns live and die by their teams.

My brother lived in Chula Vista for about 4 years. I went out there a few times to stay with him. I loved it out there. I got a little salty when he moved away......

Boston has it almost right. The Red Sox dont play in downtown but still play near it in another part of the city thats actually like the 2nd downtown not far from where the Celtics play in the actual downtown if there is no traffic. where Boston sports fukked up is the Patriots because they should have built Gillette Stadium in the Seaport district which is a now thriving area which used to be all warehouses. if you put the stadium plus a casino that will be built plus all the current hotels and restaurants and the cruise port it would be golden

houston.
Rockets and Astros arena/stadiums are in downtown. Texans play outside downtown, sometimes I wish it was located downtown
